I actually know a hobbyist who got lost and went to the front desk and asked for the provider's room number. Can you imagine the look on the clerk's face when he asked for 'Lucious Lips' or 'Thunder Thighs'!  Hummm, hope no providers here go by those names. LOL

I guess im still a newbie since ive only been doing this for a couple of months but anyways.  I set up an apt to see someone today, arrived at the hotel, everything good, got the room #.  Went to the floor and to my surprise # didnt exist, but instead of being smart and calling the prov. for the right #, I go and talk to housekeeping.  I didnt tell them the # she gave me just something close to it, either way was told that number didnt exist in that floor.  Then i start thinking maybe i should call her up, so i do on my way down to lobby, and she is really upset cause i guess she saw me talking to housekeeping.  And then it hits me how stupid it was of me to do that.  I tried to apologize for what ive done and told her i never told them the # she gave me, but still it was a stupid move on my part.  So i left, and I just called her up again and left a message, telling her how sorry i was and hope i didnt get her in trouble.
So just as advice to newbies, dont ever talk to housekeeping, I know this may be common sense but with all the excitement sometimes the little head starts doing all the thinking and all common sense goes out the window.

I had a similar experience during my first-time venture into the hobby.  The agency gave me the room number to go to, let's call it 9999.  Well, the hotel was HUGE, and there so many hallways, I couldn't find the right one.  In panic, I called the agency, telling the operator I was having trouble finding the room.  Knowing that it was my first time using a service, she was very patient with me, and told me to find the building map.  I ended up doing just that; within minutes, I found which way to get to the room, and the rest is history.

good directions from the lady or the agency are key to a smooth session - you actually did nothing wrong.  Had the directions been explicit, there would have been no issues.

Don't feel bad, at least you realized pretty quickly your course of action wasn't the best one and you apoligized. I actually had something close to this happen to me last week. Had an appointment at a hotel, got the call and was given the room number, which I swear she said XYZ. Go inside and proceed to room XYZ and knock on the door, holding a bottle of wine and a small wrapped gift. The door swings open and instead of a 20-something model in lingerie that I requested was a 60-something grey haired woman in a housedress. I just stared speechless thinking this was a world class bait and switch. The woman looks at me and says "I think you have the wrong room" and closes the door!!

Now I'm thinking I'm screwed as I don't have a contact number to call, and I'm not about to start knocking on doors or asking at the front desk, so I head out to the pool area and franticly email her. Fortunately her room had a view of the pool, she saw me and called me with the correct room number.

Shit happens, you just have to not panic

Now im really feeling bad cause i just checked and her ad is down and she was supposedly staying till the 28.  found her ad in her hometown location.  Should i call her up again and apologize, im pretty sure she wants nothing to do with me since i pretty much cost her a lot of business.  i cant believe i was that stupid.

Has she responded at all to your apology?  If not, or negatively, leave well enough alone.

Yes you made a mistake by approaching housekeeping, but trust me, they know exactly what is going on in her room, and are likely being tipped generously.
