In most cases it would be a misdomeaner and not worth the trouble.  But always possible if it's something  they want to go after

Wanted to get thoughts if provider is busted by LE, would LE be able or attempt to go through email/phone/communications to back track johns? Or would they attempt to only flip the provider for future meetups?

Odds are likely very low that an agent would spend the time trying to backtrack when he can simply flip the switch going forward.  In my opinion, he'd only go backwards if you were a target of opportunity: famous, politician, his nemesis, etc.

Going backwards would only indicate someone communicated with someone else.  Now they could pool the metadata from your call and see who else you've contacted to try and build a network out of it, or track movements as was done in this article.  If you play the video then you can zoom in and out of the live map as his travels unfold.

Picture below is a phone call map showing how "Rachel" is linked to other people's calling groups.  These begin to stand out once you have a particular time period to review, and can begin to build patterns - perhaps of a hobby career

Doing stuff like calling the numbers they find on her cell phone but that's mostly to try and throw a scare into the guys. Can't say that I've heard if a guy getting busted that way.

Best thing to do is to get a lawyer and take the 5th. Sometimes they will visit your job. A corporate lawyer will tell them they have no information and can leave.  Helps if your ceo is in the hobby lol.

As noted above, "never say never" but my experience with LE in situations such as this or of a similar dynamic (drug trafficking and embezzlement, for instance), they want to move UP the food chain, not down.  Accordingly, if girl is working for an agency or has a "manager," most cops would be much more interested in going after them than the consumer. As to "flipping," while this does happen, in larger jurisdictions, LE's limited resources are usually better expended using female cops as bait. They're already being paid, they're professional witnesses and almost assuredly more reliable and credible.  The concerns you raise would be more likely I think in a smaller community where the answer is a resounding "no" to the question, "are you sure you dickheads don't have something better to do?"

If the DA is up for election and wants to make splash as a crime fighter, all bets are off. If not, they don’t dig that deep.

You can always claim, someone hacked into your email and you have not clue and you haven’t used the email account for eons.

However unlikely, it is possible that LE might try to contact persons.  Why would you answer an unknown sender?   Isn't your inbox full of dangerous spam & scams?

Hobby phone
Hobby email not linked to your regular accounts.

The email could be traced by IP address with appropriate court order.   Even it confronted, admit nothng because anything you give will betwisted to screw you or someone else.  You should not put anything incriminating in emails or texts.
Unless you left a body on the floor, unlikely LE will pursue for misdemeanor charges (in most jurisdictions)

35 bucks or so a year. Get a VPN. Good luck tracking your IP. (they probably could but they won't bother)

Yeah, but a lot of hobby sites ban traffic coming from VPNs because of the virus/spam potential. So it's just an extra pain in the ass to pay like $27 a month and only use it on some things.

I've never been blocked using a VPN. Mine is on all the time.

Private Internet Access, one of the very best, is 35 dollars a year....

Where the provider was stupid enough to record (illegally) the illegal events.  LE did in fact prosecute.  There was PROOF that the illegal acts had taken place.  Quite a few convictions resulted.

However, most email / phone communications would NOT include proof...  Emails & texts are most dangerous (IMHO) if explicit.  NEVER make incriminating statements.  Even if deleted, they might be recoverable by LE forensics.

About the dumbest one I heard of...  guy raised a fuss & the cops were called.  The guy complained the girl ripped him off after he paid for sex.  So he ADMITTED to solicitating in a statement to Police.  That statement was admitted into evidence & he ended up pleading guilty...  or they could have convicted him anyway.  STFU!
