LE is now busting and then turning escorts for several ways for more than one reasons.  The most recent was a joint Fed and multi county bust in So Call.   The escorts set up the johns.
The ringleader, charged originally with human trafficking which wasn't upheld on motion.  He still got a long vacation.  Many more involved in LA, Inland County and San Bernedino. The def. were involved in the running of the well know and respected Redbook.   The site was closed by fed order.

The escorts were forced by charges, some of which were worse than prostitution to turn on Johns, some of whom were regulars.-ouch!  Ladies, there are worse things that can happen with long sentences that many escorts are involved in and don't think of it as a problem.  Well for some them it became a problem.  Have you done your taxes.  It was a Federal-local task force.   Oh, how many invite an escort to another state?  Especially one provider inviting another to stay at a place she has or will get her.....ever hear of the Mann Act and it's common law.

ENTRAPMENT  guys you got the lyrics, but not the tune, as Mark Twain would say.  Well so many who write on the board don't have either.  Entrapment requires the defendant to not have the proclivity to commit the crime.  IE. The cop has to trick the def. into doing something he would not otherwise do.  Got it. Stop thinking about.  You might not think it's write re. Prostitution.  What if Joe Average was SET UP to believe by cops that so and so is dangerous and he better shoot that guy before he kills Joe and everybody in his bar, if the police aren't there.
He kills them/that is entrapment, Not murder.   Key point: Joe would never had killed, but for the cop.

Providers hire a lawyer for a day to explain how it actually works out in Court.   Hobbyist, you pay, by far the most.  Set up a law, personal security, practical factors le looks at, how they practically enforce law in this area.
It could cost, but  a Male professional busted faces $20,000 in fines, car tow and charges, lawyer, bondsman and divorce attorney.  ....I'll wait till something happens-Right!

We have always heard of providers being busted by LE's but this is news where you have decoy's working for LE's.
Well, not exactly new but this is aggressive inducement or entrapment. I could understand underage and I will agree on that front but going as far as entrapping so called John's; how far will LE go?
Can they catch a provider on act (a established one) and turn her around to get Johns?
Will the target still be backpages (which is stupid to find girls) or they would evolve?

Excuse me for it sound fear mongering, but I just want to have a fair debate.

Thanx

full of the line of BS that any woman who participates in P4P must be a slave.

But, as for your question about entrapment, it is not entrapment if the client contacts a person and asks about seeing them for P4P.

Entrapment would be where LE goes up to an otherwise law abiding person and encourages them to break the law.

Using BP and similar venues to catch clients is nothing new, and drives home the point we emphasize so often on here to see only well reviewed gals.  And yes, sadly, sometimes a well reviewed gal will get busted and then "flip", as it is called, assisting LE in catching her clients in return for leniency.  Fortunately, such a circumstance is not all that common.

(still not a lawyer)

The article is definitely one dimensional. While there are certainly horror stories of women essentially being enslaved to this industry, I have heard many personal stories about how 'this hobby' has provided independence and 'freedom' to many women too.

the comments below the article - the majority encourage/support legalizing prostitution and getting even stricter with trafficking.
