How about cute little bunny rabbits? We eat them on a pretty regular basis, same with Bambi, cute little ducks and a whole assortment of other "lower" life forms. What makes an ugly mongrel or alley cat a more valued life form than a cute little bunny rabbit, or a pig or a chicken for that matter?
