my kind of verse, something I can wrap one of my heads around.

Let's try a topic of a completely different nature here and see what it might spark. I've got a bit of a creative streak in me and here is a little something I'll share. I hope you feel confident enough to share anything you may have done creatively. Maybe even relation to what we do here...

Having been single so long I often wonder if marriage or family will ever happen for me. This struck an idea for a painting I'd like to do entitled "I Never Knew My Grandfather". It would be a painting of a little boy with some facial features similar to mine (combined with the generic unknown) looking through a photo album of some actual pics of me doing various things I've done in my life. And at the bottom of the frame would be a poem inspired by the painting:

"I took you in. I cared for you. You were my everything.
You don't know my name. You never knew I existed.
You never once laid your eyes on me.
A father to a thought. You're my favorite future memory."

-------------

And maybe as a little something extra for poetry here are two more very short ones:

SHOOTING THE STARS

You can only make your wishes in the dark.

BRILLIANCE

Who can count the stars in a single breath? I let out a calculated breath of awe and wonder. It wasn't enough. I never even got to the one that grants wishes.

Put me down for a 100.00 to win. Hell, make it a 1000.00 that everyone's going to be speechless on this one! (KIDDING!!!)

By the way, I do like poetry and the humanities in general. Not dissing your creative literature, rb! In fact, I am sure there are a lot of creative people on here that will appreciate this post.

Ha! Thanks, man. I just think we're actual people capable of depth beyond just the superficial here. Why not explore that side of us sometimes, too?

I'm pretty creative myself. I can make a mean stickman! Sadly, that's as far as my creativity goes, ever since I colored outside the lines in kindergarten:-(

Looks like joke's on me! I would have lost some money here.

In the past, on this board, I've seen recent posts like yours and most of the comments about it were: "This board is about sex, so let's keep it that way." However, last week I was going to post a "Youtube" video of Lang Lang playing Beethoven's piano concerto number #5 because I think Lang Lang is an incredible pianist, but I thought twice about posting it. In regard to creative writing, well, I love writing and I am actually somewhere in this world purposely renting a cheap rental in a cheap part of a certain city where I have been for the past month (and where I will continue to be for another month) forcing myself to finish two final chapters of a work of fiction that I began five years ago; so I enjoy reading poetry, short stories and literature in general. Having mentioned that, I do not like to share my work on the internet unless its put up for sale.

I do like your post.

if you pull out your dick, put the donation on the counter where my ad told you to leave it, i just may get comfy enough to do you.  BP poetry by yours truly.  Happy Valentines Day :)

Rec'd for putting the thread on-topic so it doesn't get moderated.

Kinda subvert's OP's intent, but whaddayagonnado?

...Grampa had a lively, colorful secret life that no one talks about. There was a recent thread about using a credit card for escort services in order to earn frequent flyer miles. One poster thought it was a bad idea because it would leave a digital trail and, someday, his grandsons would be mining Grampa's digital info and learn he had used his CC to pay for sex and this would prove embarrassing to Grampa make his grandson's feel ashamed. NOT!! I think Grampa would love to have this secret exposed and his grandson's would be awestruck that their Grampa was such a stud back in the day. The screenplay for this movie would take inspiration from 'The Notebook' and would reunite Grampa (now in his 90s) with his ATF (now in her 60s). She, of course, upon his death and according to the pre-nup would inherit a large chunk of his wealth while the grandkids were left with only a few 10s of millions. The issue would be resolved when the ATF agrees to allow 100% of the profit of the sale of the 'accidentally and illegally' released secret sex tapes of the couple to go to the grandkids.

The other vision about brilliance you inspired is a bit harder to elucidate. We know that we are stardust, we are golden and the closest I could get to illustrating your vision is a rainbow emanating from from a unicorn's butt. :D

Enjoy!!

such as ISO Rochester...ISO St Cloud...ISO north metro...ISO a girl that squirts skittles whist I converse about my mommy issues (BM)...the possibilities are endless but I will not take your vision and soil it Drummie
