He had a bucket of ice water and explained I should dip one foot into the water while flexing foot muscles and toes while breathing out, I should soak for about one minute then alternate to the other foot.  He explained this would help to improve circulation.  I've had cold showers, swam & crawled through cold water, so this didn't sound all that bad.  The water was cold on the foot but nothing so horrible, as I flexed my foot muscles, wiggled my toes & exhaled I could feel the cool blood beginning it's flow into my lower leg, was in interesting sensation, the interesting sensation went form a soothing cool feel to instant excruciating pain in the blink of an eye.  Wholly shit I thought I was going to pass out, did the best I could to go the whole minute.  Upon removing my foot, the pain quickly subsided, and I'll be darned as the warm blood circulated my leg did feel a bit better.  Apparently this technique was discovered by one of the Asian cultures as it enhances blood flow.  He explained if you do this just before bed in cold water, no ice required, you should have a better more relaxing night of sleep.
