Yes, I understand, Time Check,

I don't think you're alone. Net surfing, checking one's email extra frequently, hanging on the computer in general...I think you'll hear it from most people who participate in discussion groups on the Net. Or shop. Or download music. It's endemic in our society at this point.

My bet is that eventually, you'll get bored. If not, you'll need to ask yourself that 12-step HALT question. Do you do it because you're
Hungry
Angry
Lonely
Tired
and...is your family life, your job or your financial situation suffering? If you answered yes to any and all of these questions, you may wish to enter into an outpatient treatment program (no kidding here, folks.) If not, then you'll stop eventually. Something else in your life will take over and/or you'll leave this preoccupation completely.

I'm an optimist in this case, but I could be wrong,

I have been wasting so much time on TER reading reviews, researching for providers, reading the posts on the various boards.  I have promised myself (unsuccessfully) that I would spend alot less time with this but seem to be drawn to the same habit (addiction?) over and over.  I am not a frequent hobbyist any longer (I was at one time) but cannot seem to break away from wasting my time on TER.

A grown man should be able to control his behavior but this one is a bit tough for me.
Anyone else having any thoughts similar to mine?

Since you say that you are not an active hobbyist then can I assume that TER is merely a good read for you and not so much a tool that will help you make a decision?

If so, perhaps you can discipline yourself to access TER at a set, appointed time.  For example, you will get your TER surf delights each day for 30-minutes between 9:30 and 10:00pm.  Then be sure that you have a follow-up activity that is important for you scheduled at 10pm.

Now on the other hand you don't say how much time you are spending on TER, what it is keeping you from doing productively, how you have tried and failed to curtail the activity in the past and that you fear addiction.  From this important angle, I will defer opinion and leave such thought in the more capable hands of our esteemed LG...
