Why all the repetition for a review of existing provider???sad_smile

I wanted to provide a review for Trinity Lake & Whitney Cohen (a double). These two are well reviewed and I wanted to add my two cents. When I click the "Review Provider" I am presented with a complete laundry list of info to be filled in. I must be doing something wrong, since it makes zero sense for me to try and repeat all this info when it's already present. The only thing that's really off is the price, it's no longer accurate.

I have only done this in the past once or twice years ago, and I don't recall it being so tedious for an existing provider.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

... and the way TER wants it to be. There's been many posts about this on the Suggestions & Policy board, but it hasn't changed so don't look for it to change soon.

I'm guessing, but perhaps it's done this way to make reviewing a non-trivial act. If it were too easy, there might be a tendency for more people to write fake reviews for whatever reason. Also the easier a task is, the more easily it can be automated by some "enterprising" person who might think of starting a business writing reviews. We know such businesses exist, but it's a lot harder to do with all the manual data entry required.

But hey... reviews for providers like these are worth a little effort, right?  :)

Personally, I'd like to be able to see the specific values every reviewer put in; that would be more useful.

Yes, I total agree with that. Some information is so old Rates, general location and on and on.

The page should pre-populate the text fields with existing info when user enter a TER ID. Then user can just eyeball and chg the ones that need to be changed. That will speed up the review submission process. Of course, the General/Juicy details section will pre-populate as blank.

Admin, do you think this is a good suggestion?

I agree with a previous poster...there's a reason it's a pain to write a review...to try to keep it legit.  Some teenaged turd somewhere could probably write a simple computer program to generate a thousand new fake reviews in 3 minutes.  That puts Breadmaker to shame...Obviously there are failures but it be what it be.  But...if one puts in time writing reviews that are honest I think you will be rewarded in kind.

.....being open to her existing TER profile and the second to the page where I'm writing the review.  So, for a lot of the boilerplate stuff, I simply toggle over to see what's already there and just copy it into my review.  Since I've been doing that, writing a review is much easier and faster.  The only places I have to really "think" are where I'm entering my own ratings and then writing the prose accounts of the session.

We had way too much fun to put stress on it.  If it isn't fun to go through all that shit and reminisce the whole way, then don't do it.  It's not worth stress for it, Love.

Thanks for the sentiment, though ;)
