I mentioned in an earlier thread a few days ago that their actions are SOLEY motivated by the seizure of personal property - the article states as much. What's truly criminal is these scum posing as public servants(that's a hoot) are routinely getting away with it.
Society is doomed when those entrusted with serving the public are more concerned with serving themselves.
I'll say it again - people wonder why LE is so despised - seriously?! For everyone of these you hear of I'm sure there are 1000 you don't.

I agree. One of these days, these uniformed thieves are going to employ civil asset forfeiture on someone who decides to stand up on their hind legs and fight it to the finish and Americans are going to wake up to a blatant violation of the Fifth Amendment.
I have known good policemen in my life. Now, though, I'm suspicious every time I see one. Maybe a by-product of being on this board, but also just about every news story I've seen for the past ten years.
One thing to note though is LE confiscation of people's assets goes well beyond people arrested for prostitution. They'll do do it whenever they can. If I recall, a few years ago the disbanding of the Metro gang task force was due in part to their seizing people's assets on the flimsiest of pretexts; much of this property was never returned and could not be found later.
