Tits and Sass is a e-zine by sex workers. This piece is about how the TER reviews and discussion groups have changed the activity that we engage in. I will not summarize or editorialize on the author's conclusion (scroll to top, it opens in the middle) or the interesting letters that follow.
About a month ago, I was with one of my intermediate-longevity MILF friends who I have known and seen for about two years. She has quite a few reviews but never posts on the discussion or ad boards. She made a comment like this, "I did not know if I was going to see you. Normally, I do not see men who are active on the discussion board because they are not as nice to be with as clients who come from other sites." This piece echoes her views. ... and I think the author makes some good points, most if not all of which have been discussed here or in other TER forums, especially the General discussion forum. And I've seen providers explain in these forums that they refuse to allow reviews because of these kinds of issues, and they won't see clients who will post a review. I've seen providers who don't want reviews and have respected their wishes, but I often see guys ignore the provider's wishes (and not because they're warning the TER community about a rip off or other bad situation).
I agree with the author's conclusion, that there's a lot of value to TER and other review sites but there's also several problems that have no easy solution--and potential solutions have been discussed in these forums--because the problems are inherent to how TER operates. The problems extend beyond what was covered in the article, e.g. review manipulation by not only reviewers, but also providers. In order to solve these problems, some of them at least, I think TER's review system would need to change significantly. And how would those changes reduce the value of TER to its members?

....I think that all our reviews are considered "fictional," and yet we take them so seriously!

I have been a customer of female sexual providers on & off since the mid 80ties when the saunas were a safe place to find female companionship. After all of the saunas were closed I used the various news papers ads to find to find women to share sexual encounters with, from then until I joined TER I was cash & dashed, up- sold many times,lied to, bait & switched, & had to deal with providers that used deceptive photos in newspaper ads. Since I joined TER I have met some of the kindest & most sensual women that I could imagine & I have learned which reviewers to trust & which providers fit the type of session I want to share. It appears that most of the providers commenting on the original article sad to say had bad experiances with the review process, however my own experiance shows that cliants,& hobbiests (when properly screened) & providers have better sessions when they are better informed.
And I am sure there are plenty of others who look at it that way as well. And while TER and similar sites all have their problems, the fundamental reality that they allow guys to exchange information about escorts in a way that was at best very difficult before they came along. Speaking personally, my experience with P4P changed completely once I found TER.
I don't get why the lady who wrote this article considers hobbyists who see more than one provider to be "misogynist." Like, she can have multiple sexual partners, but we cant'? I think that's sexist on her part.
