You could go to the website and see. They used the two sites that can't be named here and they advertised teenaged girls.
Everyone needs to "Be smart and think with the big head."

Does anyone have any more information on thease arrests, I hope no one on this board would be involved in that behavior, it gives the hobby a black eye.

According to the news I've read, this sounds very much like other recent stings where ads were placed and at some point the would-be clients were told the girls were underage and still showed up.  One story said LE changed the wording of the ad at some point to specifically say the girls were underage.  Not sure what to make of that as my understanding of the "site which must not be named" policies is they will take such ads down.  Perhaps those who were arrested where the ones who showed up before the ad came down.

I personally think the journalist pulled a true "shill" for LEO on this one.

Try to follow this logic...

First paragraph says in the past two weeks 19 charges have been filed and "50 other cases are pending."

Second paragraph says on Tues Dakota county announced 6 caught in the bad side of the business.

Third paragraph says unrelated spree of charges in Washington county of 13 men

Read further and Dakota county attorney is cited as saying similar charges are to "be announced" in Ramsey county "soon."

So what are we talking about as far as true numbers here?  Anyone care to guess?

Who the fuck can follow that logic.  If you have read that article and can do the calculus and fill me in better feel free to post here or PM.  Even tell me I'm wong...er...I mean wrong.

Long of the short to me is as such...I think either the numbers of MEN caught in the net recently as "advertised" via this story is very out of proportioned or the author of the story is a POS journalist, and/or there have been some incidents that have not been reported here.  What most troubles me is the lack of reporting here on this board about being caught...sigh.  If you believe there could possibly be dozens of individuals that could be facing charges locally I thing odds are some TER members are involved, or at least even one.  You know what they say about those that deserve stitches...

I think they also want you to believe they are only focusing on the demand side.  Wong...er...I mean Wrong!  Any providers get weird emails lately?  The demand side is fun to criticize for using the little head to fall for that stupid ad that was TGTBT but...and it's a big old juicy booty butt...how long do you think it will take for LEO to go sniffing after some of that...some of that real good...money that is being made.  And you still all want to work through big organized scheduling.  Please wake up.

So that the reporter basically just repeated what LE told her is no surprise.

Is it likely that some TER members were caught up in this?  Hard to say IMHO.  I have no idea what percentage of hobbyists are actually TER members and of course TER is not going to allow anything that remotely resembles promotion or tolerance of underage girls so those who are interested in them are probably less likely.  Plus on average it is reasonable to believe TER members are at least somewhat more knowledgeable on average about LE tactics than non-members and perhaps no TER members were caught.  Even if they were, how many members actively post and if so are they likely to admit it here?  I've seldom seen a member post on here they were actually arrested.

Checked the site and the ads are still up (search Hastings). You can't really tell by the pictures because they aren't showing their faces. Can they really use underage girls for the sting? Is it even legal? I am no lawyer but it really strikes me that they are doing crap like that.

No they can't use underage girls in pictures.....   that is entrapment.    But they can us 18 year olds that look like they are young.

Disclaimer:

I think anyone trying to have sex with someone underage should be thrown to the wolves.

complete and udder bullshit if you ask me.

Undercover LE (and this is a form of that; they are pretending to be young girls) can say most anything they want.

In this case, I have to applaud Officer Snyder and his task force.  If you are knowingly attempting to have sex with underage girls, sorry guys you deserve what you get.

That being said, I'm really tired of the conflation in the media of deviant behavior (like having sex w/minors and/or human trafficking) with consensual adults engaging in consensual activities. In Europe, they have largely legalized/decriminalized hobbying. No hobby phones needed in London, Paris or Berlin. The result is a safer, relaxed and fun environment for both providers and hobbyists. If however you are caught pimping, trafficking or with a minor in Europe, they will bring down the Wrath of Khan on you (as they should).

LE and the media does a disservice to the true victims by keeping hobbyists and providers in the shadows.  It seems to me if politicians and LE were serious about curbing human trafficking and the exploitation of minors, it would adopt a system similar to that of Europe. That way we would all be deputized and would feel free to report any suspected incidents of malfeasance, which in turn helps protect women/girls from abuse.  Instead LE often picks the low hanging fruit in order to look like they are doing "something", while really doing nothing at all.

But in this case, I do applaud them for trying to deter the exploitation of minors. Bravo!
