But often it is the people who run the websites who do this stuff.  I would think the providers would see the obvious drawback to dealing with such sites.

I'm wondering why some ladies include locked photo albums on the main page (or the "Gallery" page) of their Web sites.

I can understand ladies who have "special" collections for established "friends," which are password-protected--I'm on a small number of ladies' lists for such collections--but I do not understand why some ladies place password-protected collections on their main pages (in the "Gallery" section).

Isn't the point of the "Gallery" on their Web site to show off their fine assets and to encourage people to come see them?  If so, why put people off by not letting them see the photos?

Am I missing something?

That gets me to just skip on by them.

Yup: I skip on by, too.

Just wondering how/why it is that some ladies do this....

Sometimes the ladies have no idea of changes made to their site when hosting. Not too long ago a major site set that as the main option and many ladies had no idea.  Maybe a email to the lady direct would help to determine whether they know &that's their policy, or if it's a fluke with their web host.  ;)

This is something that's being perpetrated by "free" website providers.  They get the revenue, not the providers.  In a lot of cases, the providers don't know that their galleries have been put behind a paywall.  The provider should be able to reverse this in their administrative control panel, if they're so inclined.

....now that I think of it, that's what I've seen: Locked photos on what look to be boilerplate Web sites, and it makes sense that the Web operators would try to do such stuff.

I'd hope the ladies to whom this happens would have the savvy to monitor their Web sites and see this...and nip it in the bud

Yes!! I've had to call the company several times!!   My galary should nevery be locked!  For a fee? Wtf?   The Provider, in most situations dosnt know.
