I'm heading to Begus Valentines Day weekend with some friends. I'd love to take them to a great steakhouse or a nice Italian Place.

Any new spots to check out or shall I go to the standard ones?

I'd love to get some suggestions from you fine people. Anyone feel like having drinks while I'm there???

You may want to check out Chowhound.com's southwest board.

For steak: Golden Steer, on Sahara, nice old time Detroit Mob joint. Been around forever.

For Italian: Zefferino's at Venetian. Valentino's gets all the pub, but frankly, it's not even the best Italian restaurant there.

There are number of excellent choices for both, it's hard to go wrong in Vegas. But, in my mind, these two are special.

Yes, Zefferions is awesome, only been there once, but was very good. I've never been to the Golden Steer, but sounds interesting. I have had a few steaks in Vegas and best I have had so far was at The Luxor Steak House in the Luxor Hotel.

Was just in Las Vegas and had a wonderful steak dinner at Delmonico Steakhouse in the Venetian Resort. It's owned by Emeril and everything was great.

Now I just have to come up w/a good excuse to bail from my friends after dinner and connect for a multi-hour rendevoux with a wonderful provider.

The Palm is Alway's nice in The Forum Shops at  Caesars as is Les' Artistes at Paris.

January and I loved the ambiance at Les' Artistes and the prices were surprisingly reasonable and the service exceptional. Well, after all, they were falling all over themselves to please January. you can also dine alfresco if it isn't too chilly.

Dang I'm hungry and horny after this recomendation (lol).

Enjoy!
