I don't like to go to motels where the room doors open directly to the outside.   These can easily be observed from the parking lot. I prefer busy business hotels, with a lobby and no key card elevator.  Book on line and you should be able to get an upscale business hotel at a good rate .

Just wondering what hotels you guys are okay with going to...There are a lot of hotels in a lot of different area's & I just wanted to know where and what hotels are no no's for you?

There is a clear inverse relationship between IQ and Airline Mileage points.  Last year, I had 342,734 miles, so I my intellect may be suffering.  But, I do know hotels.     The way for you to pick a hotel is to consider the following.      Services  build advantageous collaborate relationships with other services that cater to the same clients.          As the people I consult for (and charge liberally), often say : ' What the fuck does that mean?"    Think of it this way: what things do the the clients who afford me also afford?    Here is an example:  The W hotels recently started allowing Avis to rent luxury cars from the W concierge.  The relationship came from solid research that showed that people who routinely pay over $160 per night and are willing to pay over $260 per night, refuse (passionately refuse based on the research) to rent cars from Thrifty, Budget, or Enterprise.  Though the cars are basically the same, people who pay a little more for cars, pay more for a hotel room.  More importantly, people who will pay more for that car and hotel reject the cheaper cars.      So, you should pick the hotel based as this question:  What does the niche of people that spend money on me typically spend money on?  Do my clients stay at Extended Stay or The Magnolia? Grouping your service within that same niche will give your service,  what I charge people to create,  a 'brand experience".  That brand, if meticulously maintained, increases your value.  The rest... Elevators, discretion, etc is easy and will fall out of the above reasoning.  Incidentally, the W hotel was clever.  They partnered with Avis so that their own parking lot would be full.  People paid for the rental car, then had to pay the W for Parking as they walked around the city.  Beautiful upsell.     As someone who respects you & hopes to meet some day... Please don't get ideas ( smile)
