Thank you very much. I guess if nothing else it won't hurt to give it a shot. :)

Hello all,

I am new to this hobby and am looking to have a go at my first time. I have a bit of an odd situation though that I haven't seen covered before and was hoping someone would have some thoughts. Here it is:

I live in the Washington DC area and work for one of the branches of the government. So I do not have a receptionist or even a switchboard who receives calls for me. I have my own cubicle with my own phone that goes directly to me. No one else answers this phone but me. Now since I don't have any references I understand that a lot of people ask for a work number and use that as part of verification. Well it seems this won't really work for me as its just another number that I answer.

So am I out of luck? What does everyone think?

You actually have a couple options. There are secondary screening services that you can subscribe to....… Such as preferred411 & RS2K

You can also invest the time and patience to establish a level of comfort with an established provider that you have enough confidence in to share some personal information with.

In some cities, (*but I am not sure about DC*)  there are some agencies that are a little more willing to take less information because they have some filters in place that independents just don’t have the ability to use on a regular basis.

I’m sure if you research enough someone will fit the particulars that you need. There is usually someone out there for just about any situation.

Good luck in your search....… Kisses ~T
