I'm a provider and realizing the need for screening. Can you please tell me how you were screened or how you as a provider screen? Other than a fellow provider refference, do you really go as far as verifying place of employment?

You may have better luck getting a lady to tutor you on screening via pm or e-mail. The methods ladies use are both varied and very closely held.
As to how we guys are screened, who knows. We provide as much personal information as she requests and we are comfortable with providing. If she is any good at it we shouldn't ever know how much she actually checks out.
Often many professionals can be verified by merely searching their AMA, Bar, and/or other professional listings/directories, or their companies individual websites.
Making a phone call to their main switch board and identifying yourself as a lending institution, real estate agent, auto dealership etc is a simple way of verifying also. The moment the operator switches you to their extension merely hang up.
These sites usually have you verified that you are indeed a provider. It is best not to openly discuss sensitive topics....…
After all, if you tell a rat how we build the rat trap it just makes them more careful the next time...… Please keep in mind that any “public” boards can be read by anyone!
Try DZ411 or a few of the other sites, they offer great advise, tips and recommendations for both screening and keeping a provider safe.
