Yeah, we're runnin' a little bit hot tonight.
I can barely see the road from the heat comin' off of it.
Ah, you reach down, between my legs, ease the seat back.

My kind of guy!

I was listening to Talk Radio this morning and the subject of driving songs came up. A driving song is that song that you will crank when you are driving, weather you are by yourself or with others.  Here are a couple mine:

Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again

Teddybears - Punkrocker

The Strokes - Reptilia

I love Depeche Mode & The Strokes :)

Good driving songs (I don't drive, but like to listen to these in the car)-
-anything by the Dire Straits
-Starcastle "When the Sun Shines at Midnight"
-Starflyer 59 "I Drive A Lot"

Good topic.

I have no clue.
Can't remember listening to any music except for one Chinese song lol...
"House of Flying Daggers" movie - a song about 'the most beautiful girl in the nation from the north' or something like that.

Very sensual dance from the movie and the girl I was with moved very gracefully as well.

Other than that, I got nothing.

Puddle Of Mudd - Control: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0-lENIRHaM

My own worst enemy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc5iTNVEOA

Lit is great....  In fact 8 out of 10 former girlfriends would use a Lit song to describe a relationship with me.......

Pretty much anything from the classic DLR era of the band, and quite a few from the Sammy era as well.  I find it hard not to floor it if 'Panama' comes on.

And I love to crank Sammy's  "I can't drive 55" and Judas Priest "You got another thing comin'"
As well as AC/DC and Queens  classics

Or classical if I'm running late and need to stay calm in LA traffic, ha. Russian composers are my faves.

A few of my favorites.  Among MANY.   Have to be cranked up good and loud.

Yeah baby, I feel it. Louder the better...

Good thing I have an old car with crappy speakers. Would probably get arrested too often for noise disturbance otherwise.

Whenever I hear Kashmir I always think of this scene from Fast times at Ridgemont High...

Even though Kashmir isn't on Zep IV...

AC/DC - "Shook Me All Night Long"

Blur - "Song 2"

Clapton - "Leila"

One particular album...FEAR's Live...For The Record.  If I'm driving to work I play "I Don't Care About You" on repeat.  It's better than coffee to start your day right.  If I'm driving away from work I spice it up a bit more.  One FEAR song in particular reminds me of Nicole Ruby...Null Detector.

Phosphorescent - Song for Zula

I don't know why, but when I get things plugged in and I have a drive ahead of me, I always crave this song. It puts me in a dreamy calm place.

I have yet to find a better album to listen to while driving in the rain. IMHO
Robin Trower "Bridge of sighs" is another favorite.
Yes I am old.

When Free Bird gets going, it's gotta be louder.

AC/DC, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Who...
60s and 70s stuff...even California Dreaming by Peter, Paul, and Mary.

...California Dreaming is by the Mamas and the Papas, not PP&M. I s'pose next you're going to tell me that Glen Fry was the guest guitarist on the recording.  ;)

No, you are right. It is/was the Mamas and the Papas but...what is/are PP&M's main song(s) that they're known for???

I do know Glen Fry was with the Eagles (I think). Hotel California...

Who is Claude Day?

I've always only been into the songs and how they sound and never paid much attention to the band members and often didn't know the band or song name if you can believe it.

The internet has definitely helped me in this regard...as well as learning the lyrics, too!

...claudeday is an infrequent poster and clever prankster on this board who used to post a lot under a different handle.

You're not old at all..  Pink Floyd was one of the best concerts I ever saw and I'm not a big fan.    Here is a great cover of Wish you Were here by Catherine Wheel.

...it makes me put the car in cruise control and I jump onto the car roof and sing it out loud. I don't care how dorky it makes me look or sound!  :D
