I have a similar situation.  I am new to all of this, and I tried to set up my first appointment.  She was very willing to accomodate, but no info was exchanged other than time, location, reference to rates on a website, follow-up phone call on the day of and potential extras for an extra fee.  This provider has a lot of reviews last month, and the previous few months.  The reviews are encouraging, but I don't want to get burned on my first venture.  Any advice or steps to be more careful?

not sure if this should go here but since ive only seen 4 prov i think im still new.  Well I called to make an app to see a pornstar on Thurs. but she never asked me for any references, which surprised me.  I also had to ask her about her rates since their not on her web site.  She is well reviewed in this site with the last one being on dec.  Should i be suspicious about seeing her, how didnt she know i wasnt LE, this might sound silly but could she be working for LE.  What do you guys suggest i do.
thanks in advance for any sugguestions.

Not all providers ask for references, so her not asking is a point of concern, but not necessarily a red flag.

You say your lady is well reviewed, the most recent being in Dec.  When was the one before that?  A long gap, 6-8 months between reviews could indicate that LE has co-opted, by means fair or foul, the identity of an established lady.

Look at who has reviewed her recently.  You have to be a VIP to view a reviewers history.  If her recent reviewers have submitted reviews more reviews after the lady in question, chances are you are safe.

Provider references aren't the only method of screening, and many ladies say it's the worst method.  If you gave her enough info to check you out, she most likely has her methods.  Think back to what she asked you for.  Did it include your last name, where you work, phone #, etc. or was it strictly when are you gonna be here and for how long?

Most importantly, if you're uncomfortable, cancel and try again with someone else.

I don't ask for referrences because to be absolutley honest, I have little faith in the referrence system in general, but in particular for the area I live in. Other providers rarely respond to referral requests, if they do respond, their response tends to be something along the lines of "Oh yeah, he sounds familiar, he seems ok to me" Leaving one to wonder if the information about a gentleman was only "familiar" to her, how exactly does she know he's "Ok"?

The fact that I do not rely on referrences however, does not mean that I haven't taken steps to assure my safety. I just don't tell you what I've done to "check you out", and the less said, the better.

One detail you shared that may be something worth wondering about is the lack of information about her rates on her website. That basically forces you to discuss her rates up front, which should never be done. Not asking for referrences may not necessarily be a red flag, but being in a position to discuss $$ beforehand may be.

Just my two hundredths of a dollar.

Hmmm, porn star and no recent reviews...… (*If you are in ATL you REALLY need to b/c –or- pm a hobbyist or two!!!!!*)

:)  sorry I couldn’t resist  Kisses.... ~T

Thanks for the replies, now im starting to think i should cancel.  Here is how the conversation went yesterday: I told her that i wanted to make an appoinment to see her on thursday and asked her what times she would be available.  She told me and asked me for how long.  So i told her the time and only for 1hr.  She asked me my name, so i just gave her my first name, and she told me to called her back today Wed to confirm.  thats it, i did forget to ask her the rates so I had to call her back and just asked her that i forgot to ask her what her rates were, she told me and just to call her back today to confirm.  Thats it, never asked me for work info, references, not even my last name.  She does have about 8 pages of reviews, and the last ones are 3 in dec, 2 in nov, pretty much one every month, and they were by people who have done other reviews.  So you guys think i should just cancel?

i should also mention that she is date checked verified if that means anything.

gut feel.  Assuming she has caller ID, she got your phone number and probably used that to verify you (to some extent).  Good luck!
