Well except for the pricetag of course.  I would appreciate any leads on grants, scholarships etc that you know about?  Either share here or email me at [email protected]. Thank you!

Take advantage of scholarships, scholarship competitions. Look into loans and loan forgiveness, some places will do loan forgiveness in exchange for volunteer work, or doing a particular job. "The Ultimate Scholarship book" comes out with a new edition every year and it has thousands of different scholarships to look into, I used it when I was college searching and it was awesome. My high school offered a lot of scholarships that many of my peers did not take the time to look into, school is a great place to look.

Really think about what sets her apart from other students, whether a sport, club or hobby, there is money to be found just through those things.

Also! Once she's in college, DONT forget to continue the scholarship search. Many are still offered to people in their undergrad, not just incoming freshman.

Hope this helps and good luck! Exciting times are ahead :)

That is really great news. I always loved it when the kids got those acceptance letters!  :-)

You already have some good recommendations here for scholarship information. I would also contact the school directly. Colleges and universities accept applicants such as your daughter because they want them in their community, and I've found they are generally very interested in helping make it affordable for the student to attend. Even if they have already made an award offer, they will sometimes find a way to add to it. You will also find lots of information at your public library, and there may even be a librarian or two there with particular expertise in finding financial aid.

I'm assuming you filled out the dreaded FAFSA?

I remember well the day my daughter got accepted to her first choice college. Now though I think I might feel even a little better because she's graduating and I just made the LAST tuition payment!

It'll go fast. Enjoy these years while you can!
