The recent stories seem to be outstate not in town. It may be that resources are greater and less thinly spread in the hinterland versus the big city. My GF the attny, checked with a hennepin county attorney about this and the CA said the ROI is too low for them to justify it. It may be that the crime pressure on the city for the available resources may lower the risk of a sting.

The outstate folks may be less sophisticated in the hobby and easier prey.

We are coming into another major election year & as always stings are on the rise. PLEASE! Take extra precautions. Screen with a vengeance. Even if it means rubbing two pennies together for a while or rubbing one out in the shower from time to time.

I am positive I have cut my own throat multiple times declining appointments & sticking to my guns with meticulous screening requirements but my safety & freedom are worth it. Stick with well reviewed ladies. Frequent ladies you have seen that you know are safe. You folks know the drill.

I can't post a link as the report includes names. Here are some excerpts from the article...

Prompted by heightened concerns from state authorities regarding human trafficking, a joint law enforcement effort charged 10 men with soliciting prostitution stemming from a June 12 sting operation at a Mankato hotel located in Nicollet County.
Two men face felony charges for offering to pay for sex with a female under 18 years old. The other eight men face gross misdemeanor charges as “prostitution patrons” for offering to pay for sex services after connecting through ads placed on Backpage.com.

Six months ago, five men – including a Brown County corrections agent –were charged with soliciting prostitution in Mankato.
Since that effort, other sting operations have produced similar results throughout southern Minnesota. On Feb. 19, two men were charged in an Albert Lea sting; on March 20, 10 were charged in an Owatonna incident and eight more men were charged in a second Albert Lea sting.

“We were surprised by the amount of demand," Within five minutes after posting the Backpage.com online advertisement, calls came into investigators, he said. “We stopped at 10, but we could have arrested many more.”
Men who responded to the ads could “pick a girl like ordering a pizza,” he said.
Investigators would not identify the Mankato hotel(s) used in the sting operation. Three of the men, those facing felonies and with out-of-state addresses, were jailed in Mankato. Charges were filed in Nicollet County

It doesn't actually do anything to stop real trafficking because they aren't catching any of the people who actually traffick the women and girls caught in this.

Instead of prosecuting crimes that never happened, the Nicollet County Blues might clean up its own lackadaisical pursuit of its most wanted list for domestic strangulation, swindle, fraud, car theft, burglary, weapons charges, etc. Well they are not really most wanted, the non-johns are obviously higher. (Website to their list is not given--it has names and pictures)

Real police work is too hard when you can place a BP ad, draw suckers, get free media and fund the department with confiscations from crimes that did not take place.

Ok, this article is either incredibly ugly as LE goes or crappy news writing.

So 2 are arrested for soliciting a minor and 8 others for soliciting prostitution.

So either LE is using minors as bait for felony charges which in my mind should cost all of those involved their careers if they are using minors in stings!  Since I am quite sure minors are not allowed on the payroll and thus not participating as part of their career choice.

The other option is a news writer combining two arrests in the same article with the intent of making trafficking of minors a part of the catch of the set LE sting.

I am sure they didn't use minors.    I am sure that when messages where exchanged they said they have "young girls" and when asked age.... they told them a minors age.   I am sure they are also using the "minor" to make the charges stick and sting more.   Plus the media coverage would be greater.

Thank you for the heads up and also wishing all of us to be safe.

should be hung up by their balls.   Those are the ones that need to be arrested and charged with a crime.  Leave the rest be

we would identify and report the pimps and victims and predators faster than any of these stupid stings could. We have far better grapevines than they ever do.

The fear of reprisals against our own irrationally illegal consensual commercial sexual encounters takes us out of play.

Message to LE:   Work with us, not against us!

And would never fly with the religious right wing and those who think that all hobbyists are abusers of women and all women in this are victims.  You say you chose to do this of your own free will?  Clearly something is wrong with you mentally; probably abused by some male.
