Personally, I think a provider giving out a "civie" name in any format is highly problematic. But, hey if you don't think so, it is not your problem - is it?
a hobbyist is being outed by a provider. If you are okay with that, STFU. Personally, I'd rather be informed as to who and when I was being outed.

But this is what I think you are trying to say....
A guy "M" goes and see provider "XYZ"..... now "XYZ" is going around and saying "M" paid for services.... Correct?
Now where is she doing this? Online boards, to "M" work, to "M" family or wife? You see there needs to be clarifications. Also if you could say what provider would help too. Or give hints at what provider. Because that would help also.
Because I am sure there are many people with an initial of "M" who have seen many providers. So it is really vague statement in your first post and not much info in your following posts.
What are you considering "outing"? To me, "outing" means telling those the hobbyist knows in his personal, professional, and/or family and done to inflict harm or damage to a persons character in his civie life.
Warning other ladies about asshole behavior is not "outing" if done in good faith.
I have no idea if the male subject of the OP's post is guilty of asshole behavior or who the Provider is and don't really care unless it is a major infraction of the generally accepted client behavior.
That said, I don't believe a lady should reveal personal info of a client to another client. That's just wrong!!!
Shouldn't they be busy with other things anyway?

The provider in question is pissed at me. She made a couple of drunken voicemails to me and that was followed by some email rants that gave out the real first and last name of a client to me.
I am tending to assume she will do this for others.
1. I wonder why she's pissed at you? You seem like such a friendly prick.
2. You need to pick better friends.
3. If you get past your veiled concern (and BTW I still think your story is bullshit) why don't you name the banned provider so her current and former clients can take things up with her directly. By your own words you assume she will do this for others.

I gave out a first initial. I have exchanged PMs with a couple of individuals and shared the second initial with them. I am not repeating anyone's name anywhere.
Eventually, either you need to give the PMer the full name, or they need to give you their name. If the PMer isn't the party in question, someone's identity has been outed due to your actions.

Someone is outing you and you'd prefer that a hobbyist not make an effort to inform you. This far, no one has match both initials.
If you can't help this guy whose name you were given without risking outing someone else, either to yourself or another person, why do it?
If you have a score to settle with a provider, find some other way to deal with it other than risking the outing of others.
1. A provider sent me an email outing a hobbyist.
2. I posted a comment indicating the hobbyist's first initial.
3. I responded to inquiries, via PMs, to anyone concerned it was them.

I don't think I'm insane. But I know for sure I'm not dangerous. You, sir, are dangerous. Of that I am certain.
That's why I don't ever fucking give out my real info, except once to see this supposedly 8/9/10 and turns out averaging 6. Never again.

This is always mind blowing to me. How would they ever get your real name unless you are dumb enough to give it out.
With burner phones, gmail and parking a block or two away, walking in with cash and no wallet there are no excuses for being outed. You can see most providers with previous vouches.
Like clockwork a few times a year someone has a hand ringing, life changing outing, yet dosent take steps to prevent it. Like watching a train wreck it is hard to look away.
If you wish to see a different provider every time, her discovering your identity is unlikely. After visiting the same lady 10 or 12 times a year for 5 or more years, it is more likely you are each going to know more personal information.
If the provider is revealing other hobbyist names to you in drunken email rants, then it's safe to assume that she's likely revealed (or will reveal) yours at some point as well. It just goes to show, no matter HOW well you know a provider (or vice versa if you're a provider) that you should think twice about what you reveal to him or her, or at least try not to get them pissed at you - especially if you have something to lose.
It's likely their relationship isn't exactly a secret anyway. I immediately thought of one "matching" name that had a very visible "relationship" here with a now banned provider on TER. PSA for the kiddies...don't use your TER username as your handle on twitter...
Lastly, if you could share your name with us - we'd all be happy to let you know if we hear a provider out you

Try to inform us and warn to be careful and what do you get, a bunch of grief for your trouble. I don't pay attention to all the personal history here but if my initial was M, I'd be thanking you more.
