Can someone please enlighten me as to why the twin cities seems
to have so many visiting ladies. I think it only right that we should
pay more attention to the ladies that live here and work here first.
In other words support our own.
I see the same thing, lots of visitors and fewer local ads... I think Minneapolis is just a beautiful city and the ladies can see we have a well-established board here... and since the winter is out for traveling they all flock here in the summer! Just a few ideas... I know when talking to ladies about traveling those who are not from here say they LOVE Minneapolis!
I would agree I think the Cities are a desirable destination 8 months out of the year, but I also think the reason so many providers visit is because the hobby scene is active and seen as being strong. Although, I have talked to some folks on other boards on TER and we do have a reputation as being "cheap". I have had some providers tell me they would never and have never considered visiting the Cities. I don't think we are cheap at all, I think we are frugal.
I would agree with Rawvet, we need to "support our own!"

I root for the home team and the home field advantage. Lots of talent offering a great variety of sports. Bring a bat and balls and they'll get you up for the game. Nothing like being "Made in Minnesota" by Minnesotans.
Visitors -- see the list here and on TER and p-411 grow with so many with high price tags from out of town. We here have two of the countries top rated and they are priced far less than a lot of the visitors.
Add to them the likes of Portia and Jillian to name a couple and maybe there is a reason that some of them have trouble filling their dance card at the rates they are asking.
Someone must be scheduling as they keep coming
When I first came to the twin cities, it was because it was close enough to Chicago that I could drive and because I had heard all wonderful things about it. I heard the gentlemen were all cute (which I found to be TRUE!) and the ladies here are beautiful as well. The hobby scene is very active, and everyone has been very friendly. I plan to make Minneapolis my second home, and am in the process of looking for an apartment here. So, I may not be a born and bread Minnesotan - but I can say that I do feel very at home here.
I totally understand and agree with supporting your local ladies! But, sometimes you may want to try something different. 
You have come here often enough that someone may have to adopt you.

You can handle me 24/7? If I got adopted you may end up wanting to return me! HAHAHA! I dont really cook or clean, or do laundry, so unless you want to adopt me as just a sexy slave then you may want to save the receipt LMAO!!!!!!!

And if things here are going so well that we can support them plus be a well thought of destination for visitors then I'd say that leaves us guys to enjoy a wealth of riches.
If a guy wants the thrill of the first visit with a new lady, but he wants to stick with upscale, reviewed providers, the local market is not endless. Such men are happy to see touring ladies, especially after a winter with fewer visitors, and it's their money to spend as they choose. As to why the numbers increase about now, look around. It's a beautiful city even if our weather can be unpredictable.
Some of our local ladies visit other cities. I'd hate to think they are made to feel unwelcome. It's a self-correcting problem if rates charged by visitors are too high. They don't get bookings so they either charge less or they don't come back. If that is the reason we are called cheap by some, so be it. If they do get bookings, their rates aren't too high even if I can't afford them.
On the other hand, ladies who are serious about touring adjust their rates in many cities. This is not New York or LA. Hotels are cheaper. Everything is cheaper. And unlike Vegas, we don't have a gazillion tourists eager to spend their money. Several of our local luminaries charge more when they visit New York.
I think hobbyists and providers both should see who they choose to see based on their own motivations and financial abilities/needs. I don't think it's effective or reasonable to start having expectations of or scolding other hobbyists because they hobby differently from someone else.
I've never seen a visiting provider; they usually have a higher rate than I'm willing to pay, and I have several regular local providers I'm comfortable with. But given a sufficient windfall, I'd definitely consider a visitor, depending on the services offered. That's not a betrayal of local talent; it's a personal choice, something we're all making as adults.
Lots of good points all around by many of you. Don't know why I thought of cars (ladies) as I'm definitely not mechanically inclined but I do know how to accelerate, shift gears, use windshield wipers, and most other auto-related movements.
Anyway, back on track, while I, as an American, am certainly all for supporting and driving "Ford's," I also like to drive Honda's, Kia's, BMW's, Audi's, Volvo's, and most any other types of cars as well.
Cars, beer or wine, sushi or fast food...most 'commodities' in America all have choices...
variety...that is the "spice" that I crave! And as great as the local ladies are, I need and want and consume more
I think for me it has to do with variety. I for one like, no love, Latina women and have not found one that really does it for me that is local. I have also heard from some of the travelling ladies that the guys here are nice and know how to treat them. Plus there is also a lot of things to do here MOA, sports ect. There are lots of great woman here locally also so I guess we are just extra lucky to live here in the Twin Cities.
