Hello Chicago!

I'm Cori, and I have a gluten allergy.  Honest and true, a bite of every day garden variety deli sandwich bread will have me down for the count for a week or more.

But, I LOVE pizza.  So far, and I can't believe this myself, the best gluten free pizza I've ever had was from a little dive pizzeria in Columbus Ohio.  It looked so good, I took it back to the counter after lifting the lid and asked if they gave me a regular one by mistake, as this is a medical allergy and will make me sick.  Nope, they swore up and down that it was gluten free.  So, what did I do?  I opened it back up , took a slice out and nibbled it with a "hate fuck" stare in reserve and at the ready to call them liars when I got sick. lol

I didn't get sick!  The crust was airy and doughy, it had that unctuous and fluffy ability to be pulled apart like a loaf of fresh uncut bread.  It didn't taste like a cracker or a communion wafer.  My god, it was GOOD.  Add to that a great three cheese mix, and a spicy but not too spicy sauce with real deli pepperoni and grilled onions, thick sliced bacon and the merest *whisper*  of roasted red peppers, and you have what I can only call to date, The Best Gluten Free Pizza in my short life.

Now, I've been to all the chain locales that offer an option.  But that's all they are "options".  Who wants to eat an option.  I would much rather have the Real Deal.

Now, come on Chicago.  You don't mean to tell me the Buckeye's have it better than The Bears?

Try morreti's for gluten free. Pizza is a diifcult subject as Everyone likes different types. My favorite is Pizanos.

but I've never even had their regular thin crust so I can't directly recommend.  I can't imagine it's not good though. Worth a try at least.

I am also GF, and Roots Pizza is delish. They have a location in Wicker Park and in Lincoln Square!

These days gluten free is the new thang... So many of the cities pizza Restraunt's cater to gluten free

Piece in wicker is delish & one of my favs!!!

So many of these suggestions are towards the North, and I arrive and leave through the South :/

Piece is in Chicago's best neighborhood and I'm not just bias because I live over here but if you are staying downtown it's a very easy Uber ride over or the blue line is right there. I'm back and forth from Bucktown to River North daily it's like less then a $10 ride.

Chicago Oven and Pizza Grinders Co.

Here is a video on it, Ive been going there for years....but not that often. :)
