What is there to do on a week night downtown? I'm stuck in the area until a friend gets off work and I'm already bored out of my mind. A lot of stuff closes early around here...

Had I known early enough, I would've taken you around downtown, places that may be more secret than known.
I very well could've left the area at my own discretion however like I mentioned I was waiting for a friend to get off work so I had to stick close to that area and not wander off and get lost. My earlier dinner plans with out of town family ended sooner than expected so I had a large gap of time left to fill on my own.
So no maybe I wasn't literally 'stranded' but such query over semantics is a bit petty. You'll have to excuse my somewhat over-dramatic phrasing.
