I've seen a couple of providers and after each one I've nervous that I may have caught something even though I we use peotection. Now I'm planning on stepping up to a GFE provider and I want to do more than the basics. How risky is it to do DATY, DFK, and whatever else happens? It's hard to look past the fact that so many other men have been there and could have left things I don't want to pick up? Any special knowledge that could put my mind to ease? Thanks!
you have to accept that fact in this hobby. Get yourself tested on a regular basis. Lastly, try not to focus on the negative - sounds like you are paranoid and if so, will never fully enjoy what is available to you on TER.

I’ve long been a proponent of researching carefully and being aware of what experiences have been offered in regards to a providers behaviors & mannerisms. When you invest enough time in researching the information at your disposal and you have a confidence built with the provider, you should feel as confident walking away from the encounter as you did walking into it.
The “search” tab on this site is one of your most effective resources for educating yourself in facts about the hobby. (*After all, you don’t get involved in other activities in your life without adequately making yourself aware of the specifics now do you?*)
In a behavior that can involve so many risks, it is hard for me, as a provider, to understand why gentlemen don’t protect themselves, their family and their lifestyle better by doing their research.

First, get tested for STDs and to make sure you don't have any existing issues, which you are not aware of.
Second, don't engage in any risky activities unless you enjoy them. Daty/rimming/dfk, etc are risky especially if any of the parties has open wounds/cold sores, etc. As in business, higher the risk higher the return must be. So if you don't enjoy what you are doing, you are taking unnecessary risk.
Last, make sure your hepatitis A/B shots are complete and up to date. They are the best protections versus infections that you might get from daty and rimming. According to the information on CDC's web site those shots are about 25 years effective. See if it's time for you to renew them.
