Finding a hotel within walking distance of a strip hotel depends on what you meant by "walking distance".  Most of the strip clubs are along industrial boulevard west of the strip.  My guess is you'd be walking a minimum of 2 to 3 miles one way.  The cab for that distance is a lot less than you'd spend at the strip club.

Pricing of hotels in Las Vegas is the opposite of most hotels.  They are more expensive on Friday/Saturday and less so the remainder of the week.

Center Strip Non-Gaming Properties that can be had for under $200 (depending on timing)
Vdara at City Center
Signature at MGM Grand
Trump (although I think this is further north that you want
Elara at Planet Hollywood

Center Strip Gaming Properties:
Mirage
Monte Carlo
Bally's
Paris
Planet Hollywood

Sites to see/experience:
Forum shops at Caesar's with animatronic shows.
Canal shops at Venetian with Gondola rides.
Water show at Bellagio
Volcano at Mirage
The Higher Roller Observation wheel
Battlefield Vegas (they pick you up at your hotel in a Humvee and take you to a shooting range with live machine guns)
Steakhouse in a tree house at Crystal's Shopping Center.
Three story chandelier with a bar inside at Cosmopolitan.

Nerdy Tours (my personal favorite)
Pin Ball Museum
Tour Hoover Dam

Clubs
Not a club person per se, but the mix lounge on top of the Delano has wonderful views of the strip at night.
The bar at the Mandarin Oriental is very nice.

The Peppermill Restaurant is excellent for breakfast and is attached to the Fireside lounge.  I hear the bar is very good.

Generally speaking, food and drink is expensive in Las Vegas, think NYC prices.  If you are interested in saving money in this area, book Vdara/Elara/Signature with frigs and by food/booze at a Von's or other retailer

I'll be on a 2+ week auto adventure of the south west next month, knocking off some sights on the bucket list with a 3 day stop over in Vegas. First of all there are so damn many hotels to choose from, any $200 or less a night recommendations for something clean and comfortable but near the action ? Do the working ladies prefer one from another ?

And here is the BIG question, if you have been there recently, who would you advise for a couple of reasonable hours of eye candy and GFE fun ?

I appreciate your input :)

What is the "action" you wish to be near.  Are you interested in gaming, shopping, dining or just taking in sites?

Hotel rooms can be had for under $200 on the strip near the center.  Sometimes the best hotel rooms in town can be had for that figure.

Providers will come to see you at most any hotel on the strip.  Some dated, smoke smelling properties will be avoided.  None of those are on the strip.

If you want lady recommendations, give me some specifics and I can make recommendations.

Also remember the following:
Prostitution is illegal in Clark County.
LE can and does run stings against hobbyists and providers with the cooperation of the hotels.
Stick with well established providers and be discreet.
There is a list of hotels and their security protocols that can be found on the Las Vegas Board

Thanks Uptonogood ! Really appreciate the input.
I'm really not a gambler, I want to see the sites within an easy walking distance of wherever I stay and maybe be near a good strip/dance club. As far as providers: 25 to 35, good shape, pretty face, likes to kiss and looks good in satin panties (_!_)  !
I enjoy lots of foreplay and a woman that's really good with her hands. 8hun max for 2 hrs. I'll probably want to see 2 different ladies while I'm there. The rest of my adventure is going to be through pretty desolate country. Got any referrals in Sedona, AZ Monument Valley or Taos, NM ? LOL

Red Rock Canyon
Hoover Dam/Lake Mead
Fremont Street at Night
the Neon Museum
Lego Store & M&M's World  (4 floors of chocolate!) on the strip
Fountains at the Bellagio
Flamingo Wildlife Habitat is worth a walk through
Dune Buggy Racing
Fantastik Indoor Flea Market is fantastik!

If you are there for a few days, I would recommend a day trip to the Grand Canyon and Zion Nat'l Park also

I'd recommend Bally's, Treasure Island, and Planet Hollywood for their location in the middle of the Strip.  Walk out their front door, and you are in the middle of the action, scenery, and tourist sites.  Elevator security is pretty lax too. My GFE recommendation is my ATF, Ms. LaRue McCay.

Most people have mentioned some of the non-monger fun-stuff but I would add, since you have a car, I would make a trip to Red Rock, nice drive during the day. Though you'll probably see some similar sights on the rest of your sojourn.

I would look for online deals on most of the hotels on the strip. Depending on what is going on you can find some real deals. The working ladies usually don't have make a big deal about hotels as long as they aren't motels. Keep in mind that many have security at the elevators so you will need to escort the escort. (or meet somewhere on the property to hand over a key.)

As far as GFE, use the search function to narrow it down, there are many options.

Thank you everyone for your great ideas!! Vegas is an important part of the trip and B List but I thought I'd fill you all in on the complete plan.
Since I'm driving all the way from Minneapolis, I'm catching Zion (and quite a few other goodies, Arches National Park, Capitol Reef National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park.) on the more northerly leg of my drive down to Vegas. After a long jaunt on the interstate and a good rest, I'm going to run 2 lane blacktop from Grand Junction, CO to Hurricane, UT. I am retracing a route I took many moons ago in a sold Italian sports car I was delivering to a customer in LA at speeds.... well let’s just say well over the speed limit on very long straight roads in Utah. I want to see what a car I actually own might top out at! LOL. My route after leaving Vegas includes all the natural wonders to the east, the Dam, Grand Canyon (I'll take the day train from Williams AZ to the south rim and back) then a day or two wondering up through and around Monument Valley, back down through the four corners area to Shiprock, NM and on to Taos. Some of the nights I hope to plant myself under the stars so wish me luck on March weather. After that I will be skirting Santa Fe and easing out on to the flat lands of the TX, OK panhandles to do a zig zag pattern across Kansas on two lane roads through the heart of America, I’m looking forward to small town diners with great pie ! Only then will I meet back up with the interstate somewhere near Lincoln Nebraska and the last leg home. Maybe you can tell, I've been thinking about this for quite some time :)
Keep the ideas and suggestions coming, nothing is etched in stone ! Do I hear any ladies asking to ride along ? :-

The Petrified Forest
Meteor Crater
The Mesa Verde Cliff Dwellings
Bandelier National Monument

Those are just the ones I thought of off the top of my head.

Any referrals in the provider realm ? Or haven't you been to Vegas lately ?

It seems that you are not a Vegas "regular".  If I were only going to be in Vegas one time, I would want to see Nikki Avalon.

Fair warning:  She is not for the faint of heart.

If you are going to be near Albequerque, look for the Cadillac display. It's a bunch of old Cadillacs  planted in the ground. At Hoover dam you can park and walk out on the new bridge connecting Nevada with Arizona. You could also drive to Parumph to see the whore houses. And you have to ride the Big Shot at the stratosphere!
