How about if you can have 2 word searches: one for general and one for juicy details. Also why would you do an sql query? You must find some way to cache it. If I do a search in amazon for a book it comes back instantaneously. The basic technology is the same. I think you ought to get to work. and research this more.
That, unfortunately would not make much difference. We only did our test looking for the explicit details.
Amazon has just a bit more budget than TER for technoligy. One day I hope we can afford cool stuff like that too
