Flying In Tonight and Have Same Issue

I fly in every other week, but this week is especially busy/expensive.  I'm flying in tonight and had the same issue - most hotels were booked, and cheapest acceptable hotel near O'Hare was over $350/night.

That the hotel prices have skyrocketed??

Also is downer grove, lisle close to Oakbrook?

Are they unaffordable high? I haven't checked into it myself but me and an ATF used to frequent a 3 star for 55 bucks a couple years ago.

How do you cut it?? Lmfao

I like 4 stars or above.... 3 & 1/2 is fine too.....

The Oak Brook area hotels are surrounded by Downer's Grove, Villa Park, Oak Brook Terrace, Lombard. And all very convenient. (You'll find the more upscale ones are right off very convenient highways, which is what I think people like about that area.)

Then if you keep going down I88, Lisle is off the highway too. Naperville is a tad further out, but has a couple nice hotels.

I just looked, looks like the decent hotels are running 200-400. (Most are sold out tonight) But from anything I notice paying full price, very rarely does it go below $150 even for a regular room before tax in that area.

I've noticed hotels are a little pricey in the area to begin with.

The reason hotel prices are going up is because it's summer (a.k.a. construction).  It's Chicago's high season.  That's when all the tourists come to see The Bean and our museums.  With so many people coming to visit, hotels raise their room rates.

For someone looking around the suburbs, I have personally noticed hotels in other suburbs at the same star rating run a lot less per night than in Oak Brook on a regular basis, including fall, winter, and spring. (Been there a while.)

Oak Brook is pretty expensive. But their hotels always look great.

As far as Chicago going to see the bean and museums... I guess if people are visiting family, but it's a good 45 minute drive into the city from oak brook.
