OTOH, Johnson is an idiot for being in court in the first place. The hearing was for a probation violation, so if he hadn't violated his probation he wouldn't have been in court. And if he hadn't head-butted his wife, none of this would have happened.

It wasn't just the slap on the ass, when a judge has your life in her/his hands, showing them up and making jokes is not the brightest move, especially when you get the entire courtroom to break into laughter is gives the appearance of "showing the judge up" in her own courtroom.

The judge did what she was supposed to do and I commend her for it. He has 30 days of jail food to think about it.
He was accused of assaulting his wife. So, standing before a female judge, he decided that, rather than simply stand perfectly still and be respectful, he needed to act-out like the 8th grader that he still seems to be. He got exactly what he deserved.

Got to disagree-he should have been forced to serve the entire 30 days for the ass slap-they let him out early as you probably know. Now some NFL team will probably sign him when one of their guy's goes down with an injury and we will have the choice of watching or not watching.
On probation for being out of bounds with now ex-wife... then he thinks it is funny to show disrespect to his atty? Ok, I will give him the benefit of how his life has been in the NFL and that's how they do it. Same time, it was way out of line and at a minimum he is too stupid to deserve a break. At a maximum she should have nailed his butt to the wall.
