After what went on on Orlando , my advice to you and everyone else attending would be to have fun but be EXTRA careful.
Yeah I expect there's going to be a very different vibe to things this year than there would have been in years past :(

So who's going to be having fun out there at Pride Fest this weekend?  I'll be my first Pride in Chicago, and I'm totally psyched for my first big-city Pride! Anyone have recommendations of things to see and do while there?

I'd like to think it will be a better vibe as Chicago is a more accepting atmosphere, but there are a lot of idiots, and nutballs in the world.  It's a great event.  Have fun.

I'm really interested to see the different between a southern city and a northern one, in terms of how accepting the atmosphere is.  
But yeah, I'm at least going to try to be more aware of whats going on around me. It's a scary, scary world.

The fest is 18-19, and the parade is June 26th.

I am not sure if you will be in town for the parade, but it is just simply wonderful.  My gf Betsy and I will be there - feel free to PM us if you are going to the parade!  Betsy is in London til next week, but we are making the parade.  It would be nice to meet you!
