touring advice!

So I've never toured before and i'm planning one to Chicago for sometime in late June! Any advice from providers (and clients) on the do's and don't of being a visiting companion?

Clients: What are some common mistakes that visiting provider's make that you notice?
Touring Providers: What are some 'life hacks' of touring? Also do you have a favorite city you love to visit?

Definitely a little nervous, but I think it'll be a blast!

Part of the time downtown and part in the suburbs (maybe by airport).  They are very different markets drawing different clientele.

ahh thanks for the advice! I was thinking just stay downtown but i've had a few people say i should spend time by the airport as well.

I'm coming to Chicago at the end of June too!  Maybe if we have some down time we can meet for lunch.

What I do is put up advertisement for Chicago and then book my hotels for the dates near my dates.  If Monday and Tuesday I'm getting request for downtown and Wednesday I get asked if I am near the airport, then I'll book a hotel downtown for Mon and Tue and then book Wed at the airport.

Of course, I only see one gent a day and am not sure how full you need your schedule to be.  But, if you pre book a couple of appt. then you'll have a better idea of where you want to be.

Have fun and look me up.

Since it is your first time here, be sure to take in some of the highlights of the city. There is something for just about every interest here

Hey! I'm going to be in town then (my first time too!). :3 It must be the time to visit. I'm going to be such a tourist, I'm so excited.

Bring an empty water bottle with you when traveling.  I personally find traveling to be a little stressful so all the little extra self-care you can do for yourself is great. And carrying the bottle around with me, reminds me to refill it, and to drink that water.
I don't have any other real tips because I'm a chronic over packer, who somehow manages to forget things (it's normal to have an extra bag for just shoes right??).
