The Anthony case was weak on cause of death and weak on connecting the death to Casey.  The best thing the prosecution had against the mom there was how callous and uncaring she was toward the disappearance and death of her child and the care of her when she was alive.  They proved she was a bad mom and a bad daughter but not much more.

In this case it's open and shut that Arias did it.  Her weak case of self defense is all she's got to save her life.   (I spent about a half hour reading about this case but haven't followed it closely.)

Jodi Arias' demeanor on the witness stand in her murder trial is an interesting example of lying in a forensic setting.  Malingering to a therapist working in the criminal justice system is done in a one-on-one setting, but this particular instance of lying has a nonprofessional audience of twelve jurors.

Go to Youtube and search for "jodi arias day 17 pt 1" to hear a phone call between Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander.  Where are the clues in this conversation, if any, that her desire to control him is so great that she will respond to his ending their relationship and seeing other women by stabbing him 27 times, cutting his throat from ear to ear, and shooting him in the face?

Their phone sex in this call features two orgasms by Arias, along with a discussion of the use of Pop Rocks and Tootsie Pops.
In "day 17 pt 2", Arias' defense lawyer starts by taking her through the call, and giving her many more opportunities to lie.

Any predictions on whether any jury members will be taken in?

The defense attorney is trying to spare her from the death penalty, so that she gets life in prison instead.  That decision is also in the jury's hands.
