Thanks for the info. I don't see men without references nor do I stay at roach motels. It's a good reminder to put safety in front of easy money though.  Thanks again. xo Erin

First, Four visiting providers from NH, arrested upon arriving in White River Junction:

(LINK REMOVED BECAUSE IT CONTAINED PERSONAL INFO - it's on mychamplainvalley.com, 4 women being arrested in White River Junction visiting from southern NH)

Second, officers in Burlington are now using reverse stings, posting fake ads on BP and getting responses.

(LINK REMOVED BECAUSE IT CONTAINED PERSONAL INFO - it's on mychamplainvalley.com, about 7 men answered a reverse sting ad on BP)

What really kind of irritates me about the 2nd article is two things: first and foremost, posting the mug shots of the hobbyists.  I would like to point out that in Vermont, offering services is considered a "prohibited act" - which is a MISDEMEANOR, and carries a maximum fine of $100 OR up to a year in jail for first offense (and man, what a difference between those two punishments!)  Posting your mug shot all over the web for a MISDEMEANOR is just . . . I'm sorry, its ludicrous.

The 2nd thing that annoys me about the article is that it implies there is a direct link between girls who offer services and drug abuse.  OK, look, do some people who use drugs turn to offering services to pay for their habits?  Yes.  But it is NOT a direct causation.  If a person does drugs they will not automatically offer services, and if they offer services they are not automatically a drug user.  But the article implies this.  Why can journalists, who are supposed to be intelligent people, not understand the difference between correlation and causation?  (If you ever took a class in statistics, you know what I mean.  If you don't, I highly encourage you to look it up).

  OK, rant over.

To all providers thinking of visiting Vermont - we're a great state.  We really are.  And as long as you're discreet and staying in a good hotel, the chances of you being bothered are pretty much slim to none.  So please, don't stay away - we need more quality in this state (as if that wasn't already obvious)

And to my fellow hobbyists: the moral of the story is to not take a chance on Backpage ads 99.9 percent of the time.  If it's TGTBT, it is.  Research folks.  Yes, we all want to find that diamond in the rough, I get it, but RESEARCH.  Especially if Vermont officers are going to be turning their attention to this matter to the point where they are now doing reverse stings.  So be safe out there.  And enjoy this long holiday weekend!

Guys should see only well reviewed gals, and also gals who screen you.  (LE doesn't screen!)

Gals:  Be sure you screen the guys and never fall for the guy who offers to pay double if you'll see him right away without screening.  It's always LE that says that kind of thing.

Are you a erotic service provider and you are tired of the discrimination?  Are you a client and tired of the risks involved?  It is time the adult community steps up and support the US constitutional challenge on  prostitution laws between consenting adults.  This is how Rhode Island got indoor sex work decriminalized from 1979 until 2009.  It was because of the case Coyote vs Robert.

esplerp.org has already retained the best privacy attorney in the US and we have our arguments drafted and we have already raised over 20,000 and we are just 8 grand a way from filing and demanding our rights

We just got another 5,000 donation , so we are only 3 grand away from filing the US constitutional challenge on prostitution laws.

Keep a couple of things in mind...the star rating of hotels should not nake you feel safer and if you do your research when perusing bp you should be able to immediately pick out those to skip over. One example, a legit lady will never have all those stupid android type stickers in their headline.

Again, thanks for sharing the intel.

Happy 4th of July all, or, Happy 3rd of July fireworks from Boston

Very true. A few years ago, I made several trips there, but this year I think the boys are all going up to Montreal. It's legal there, cheap there, gorgeous women with sexy accents, and only 2 hours north of Burlington. I love Vermont, so I go just to enjoy it for myself. Life is not all about working. I adore the landscape, rolling hills, rivers, outdoor sports, sunsets, and even the fact that there are no billboards on the highways. A state that rejects genetically modified foods, is a state that matches my energy. So, I love it. Yesterday, I saw the parade at the capital. Vermont is a wonderful state, that I would visit with or without work. I would of course love to know a few men, and some that like to share the loveliness of vermont with me. If that happens, great. If not, thats ok too. Vermont to me, is a place close to my heart. And I don't even think of work when I'm in Vermont. I think... Freedom and Joy

I'm not going to argue about how wrong things are.  I agree things need to be fixed, but unfortunately that is not easy.  In fact LE procedures in hobbyland may get worse before they get better.

My conclusion is you can stay safe by staying smart.  Police went after the 4 women because they apparently posted the name of the town in their ads.  Posting the name of the town attracts police attention/action and makes one easier to find/get.  Also after looking at the details about these women, they probably did little if any screening, which again made things easy for police.  LE may or may not have been willing/able to put in the extra effort to get thru screening.  Yes police are capable, but they also have responsibility to use their limited resources/bugets wisely.

As for the 7 men, their cases are being dropped.  They cannot be found guilty, but they are still stuck with the hassle and some significant expenses I am sure.

"BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Chittenden County State's Attorney's Office says they won't prosecute the seven men arrested on prostitution charges in South Burlington last month.
The men instead will be required to take a class educating them on the complex issues surrounding prostitution.
"Prostitution can involve violence against women, addiction and in some circumstances can be human trafficking," Chittenden County State's Attorney T.J. Donovan said. "It's important that we educate community members that prostitution is far more complex and dangerous than just a business transaction."
The class will be run by the Give Way To Freedom organization."  see link below.

My conclusion overall is that Backpage is already hazardous and will only get worse.

I completely understand every ones concern ,But this happened June 18th a month ago .I  travel to Vermont
but I also have a website and I always get references or resv form filled out or if a hobbyist belongs to a membership site I get All the info I can .All of these 4 young gals were traveling together ,Red Flag ! Majority of ladies that travel do not ever put there location of what hotel on their ad ,Thats just dumb as can be .lmao,Also stay away from ads that look to good to be true ,you can tell a fake wanna be ad from a real ad.Make sure you the  hobbyist that are living or visiting on business you do your research 1st ,You know shes real if her reviews were from a  yr or two  yrs ago ,Not recent .
Vice only get ladies that talk on the phone ,they are the ones asking the questions, what do want ,what are you looking for, what do I get  ?Do you party ,How much $$$ question after question sounds like a broken record .Stick with your reg friends whom travel up there ,You know you will safe and there went be any hanky panky .
