Where to stay in Chicagoland.

There four to five hobby areas here in Chicagoland: Downtown/Mag Mile, Schaumburg, Oak Brook, O'Hare and the south burbs/NW Ind. if you stay Downtown your potential clients include the residents of a densely populated area plus all the conventioneers who come here. The downside of the downtown area is you probably lose out on attracting suburban clients who won't see you because it takes a lot of time to get to you plus hefty parking fees.
If you stay in Oak Brook, Schaumburg or the south burbs you have the reverse situation. You'll attract the suburban hobbiests but few downtown hobbiests although you can travel to O'Hare From downtown via public transportation. Your expenses won't be as steep here as they might be downtown.
Each area has great restaurants, lots of shopping and good hotels. You'd most likely need a car still to get around the burbs in order to take advantage of each area's amenities. Downtown not only do you have all the amenities but also the cultural attractions such as the art institute. If you're coming here and want to sight see I'd stay downtown/mag mile. If not I'd suggest O'Hare as this area is in the middle of the metropolis and easy to drive to.

Hi everyone!  I've been staying in the downtown area, Central Loop near Grant Park.  Some of you have been great, and all of you have been kind to me.  I've been getting some feedback on where to stay, but I'm a little conflicted on where I would have the best chance of meeting the most of you. :/  I've been hearing that near O'hare would be good, and also Schaumburg would treat me well.  I guess this is an opinion poll sort of thing. I would rather not trial and error this, but there's just no Travel Guides for SPs on where and where not to go for better guest relations. :)  Anyone have some good, well founded opinions for me? Thanks

Come to Schaumburg(popular area) and there's tons of nice hotels over here w/free parking

Downtown/Magic Mile or....

Schaumberg,
O'Hare
Oak Brook

To see more clients, most stay in two places: downtown and one of the burbs I mentioned above. Then, you can see guys that don't like going downtown and like the burbs, yet still see the guys that work downtown or live near there. Good luck

Rosemont is not a bad option either plus there is the shopping and nightlife area for down time

... what spots work for others might not work for you.
I know some ladies who love the Oak Brook area (stay there exclusively or frequently split time doing incall there) but in my travels i'm not a big fan.
Personally i'm partial to Downtown (Magnificent Miles or Gold Coast), O'Hare north (Rosemont or Des Plaines) and Schaumburg.
Whatever feedback you are getting from guys already that have booked with you let that be your guide (to a degree).

Wow, this is a LOT of information, and thank you all for being so helpful (not to mention kind in your replies!).

I've looked at every place that every one of you have mentioned and googled everything from restaurants and pharmacies ( Like CVS for all those things I *always* seem to leave behind) and travel via public transit, cab and uber from everywhere TO everywhere.  All of this tempered with the reservations I've already pre-booked have made my decision for near O'hare.  I have found a nicer than moderate all-suites hotel convenient to a few major thoroughfares that seems to be somewhat central to most people, and not terribly inconvenient to anyone wanting to see me for their first time.  Those of you VIP, please feel free to check out my full reviews (so far gentlemen have been very kind and honest in their reviews of me, so Thank You Guys!)

I am currently looking into prefered411 and RS2K and other verification sites, so everyone can feel more at ease with everyone.

Looking forward to seeing some of you when I visit next week!  Thanks again for all the help!

Not bad, hunh?  Thanks guys!  You've been a lot of help!  I'm going to keep that parking thing in mind when I travel to other cities as well. I guess that's something I may have been overlooking. :)

I believe you will get different pools of clients between downtown and ohare.

Had I known you were staying the downtown hotels in the area you mentioned, I could walk to the appointment in 10 minutes, have a nice afternoon getaway and then go back to my office.  So much easier for gents who work in downtown area if their work schedule could only be flexible to some extent.

I don't care so much about paid or free parking at Ohare or burbs. It's the time and traffic jam that discourage me from seeing ladies. Everybody's time is money. I cannot afford the unpredictable commute time. It will mess up my schedule and make it difficult for me to stay low profile in my real life.

But hosting in the burbs will get you clients who live or work in the burbs. They are likely driving to work already, so it is easy for them to drive to your hotel and see you.

Many touring ladies will stay a few days in downtown and a few days in the burb.

I hope to see you hosting downtown again soon

It didn't occur to me to split my time between the burbs and downtown.  See?  That's why I've come to the forums for advice.  That one was a gem.  Perhaps you could elaborate further on best days for each?  I'm noticed my weekends in Downtown tend to be sower, and with higher room rates.  So, I would imagine the beginning of the weekend and start og the week in the burbs, like a Friday through Monday checkout then a Monday check in through Friday checkout or something like that?

Hi, I think my personal reference may be consistent with the general pattern that you have already noticed.  You are right about Chicago downtown that the volume of commuters/workers drops significantly during the weekend. At the same time, the volume of tourists is probably steady throughout the year but can be low when it's not summer. The volume of trade show or conference attendees may vary week to week.

So for your purpose, staying in downtown loop or mag mile during weekdays while staying in Ohare area during the weekend would possibly be the best strategy.

I believe weekends in the burbs will definitely help you get clients who cannot play during weekdays despite where they work and live.

I personally prefer downtown area as incall mainly because the room is generally nicer than the lower end chains in the burbs and it's way more convenient than the nice hotels at Ohare. It makes the meeting feel more like an afternoon getaway with a girl friend or FWB. Yes, meeting at Marriot or Westin at Ohare is also very nice, but if the room is equally nice, I as a client, still need to spend an hour for CTA commute and walking to the hotel.

If you know you can establish enough appointments to make satisfactory profit with your Chicago trip and you can book a hotel directly rather than rely on, say, Priceline's name your own price to get a good deal for the area not knowing which one, then you can check out Crowne Plaza near west loop. Easy highway access, easier and cheaper street parking, and it can be appealing for those who drive.  Other downtown hotels are unlikely fully booked during weekdays when there are no big conferences or trade shows.
