plus I think some providers either don't want LE to blatantly know where they are at unless they call or because they switch cities and don't want to update the ad. I agree with both. And...... I've never had a provider get mad at me when I asked and I had to reply they where too far away. I've even had providers tell me when they will be in my city on a later date. So....ask! M.J.
I am wondering how to go about finding out what part of town a provider is in? If they are too far from me, it just isn't practical for me to see them, but it feels like it would be rude to call up and just ask what part of town they are in, then say 'k, thanks, bye!". If a review doesn't state the specific location, any other thoughts? Is it ok to just call and ask?
this is a good place to mention this issue. I have had the same issue come up many times. I have actually had providers tell me they do not want to say the general location because it casts a wider net of prospective clients. The hope is people will call and then decide the distance is reasonable.
Ladies the opposite is true, when I look through who is posted the first thing I look for is the area. It will not matter how attractive the add is if it would take a hour drive to see you. If I am interested in the add but the distance is an obstacle I have it in my memory that there is a lady in (where ever) and if I have a reason to be in that area I should contact her. It can only help and it could never hurt. If you do not give a general area your add will be passed over many many times.
The argument besides the wider net is; I do not want to give up my location and that is an easy problem to solve, just be general like north west suburbs or near DT MPLS.
Since I am giving advice that no one asked for; 1000% is not more than 100% and "if it is not me it is free" will never happen so saying it makes no sense.

I figure anything in the Twin Cities metro is fair game. I do like to know the general area by the night prior so i can figure out how long it will probably take to drive there.
I would much rather have some one ask, than decide to cancel last minute because the drive is too far for them.
ask for "neighborhood" or "nearby intersection"
