I found 1 10 mins from downtown in east boston is that a good area ? Says 10 mins from airport , 10 mins from downtown and 2 mins from train ?
I, for one, am not so keen on having to travel to East Boston.  Here's a Neighborhood Map. "Copley Square" is a smaller section within that big yellow "BACK BAY" area.

Back Bay has lots of hotel options, public transit, easy walking distances to everything, safety, etc.. The only downer is parking, but there is plenty of paid parking.

It's an easy weave from Back Bay to Park Square - Theater - Financial - Waterfront, all of which are good choices.

Boston West End - Cambridge (just across the bridge (that orange block) from the West End is good. Some other parts of Cambridge are good.

Others can chime in their favorite puzzle pieces

Hi I just want to thank everyone that chimed in on this post
You all gave good information

I ended up in back bay and it's a very beautiful plentiful area

Impposter's map is very helpful. I personally have never been and would think twice about scheduling a meeting in East Boston, just because it's a little out of the central loop of things. But that doesn't mean it may not be a great location—I just notice that most visiting providers who aren't staying in the suburbs tend to choose locations in Back Bay and sometimes in Downtown. The big hotels are obviously the usual go-to's.

I think you're from the NY area?

Logan Airport is Boston's main airport and it is in East Boston. There are hotels "at" the airport, just like most major airports. Those might be convenient for travelers or for those wanting to park in the airport parking lot (more anonymous than parking at a hotel).

There is public transit to the airport from Boston proper but it's also a toll road thru the tunnels for those who drive. Depending on the time of day, tunnel traffic can be a PITA.

If your hotel says 10 minutes FROM the airport, that might not mean AT the airport and on the regular airport shuttle routes. Without knowing the hotel, I can't say. (DO NOT POST THE NAMES OF HOTELS IN THE PUBLIC FORUMS!) Of course, you can't exactly ask the hotel, "Will my gentlemen callers be able to get here for a layover during their airport layover?"

Wait for more replies and advice on the more popular areas.
