I think that would be a tough one. The reviews do not have a state listing. That would mean that somone would have to go through and do each review by hand. Of course you could automate most of it so that a computer matched the state to the city labels but that still leaves a huge number that are in the Other category.

How about adding a search by state?
A scroll bar with the 50 2 letter state codes
would be great!

I also think this would be a good idea.  California in particular has 6 different cities or regions in the list.  Arizona, Florida, Nevada and Texas each have multiple cities as well.  It would be great to be able to do one search for all of California for certain types of providers.  The state is not that big, and I could keep the out of town providers in mind when I travel.  It wouldn't be hard to populate a new State field for the specific cities already in the list.

As for the reviews currently with the city listed as Other, it would take a little work to get a majority of them converted to a specific state but would be worth the effort in my opinion.  Of course they will not be able to figure out what state to choose for every city, but it should be accurate on a go forward basis.  Since reviews cannot be searched by Location, a new state field would be valuable for locating providers in states without major metro areas represented in the current city list.  Maybe it could even include an entry for Canada and another one for Mexico.

Actually, the other replies are correct, It would take a HUGE amount of time to add the states to each provider.  I am not sure enough people would be interested.  Anyone?

I don't know how it would be done for all the reviews posted to date. I could see it possibly being helpful for future reviews. Perhaps if a "required" field was added to the submit review part of the form where you currently fill out the city location. Maybe it could be set up in such a fashion so that that the review would not be sent until that field was filled in.

But, what do you do about touring ladys? Lets say i see a lady on tour from CA. here in Chicago where i am. What would i put for the state then? If i put down Chicago, will it start a seperate profile for her, thus causing more problem reports to be sent to staff? Will the ladys in question start getting alot of mail/requests from people who haven't taken the time to look at more then the gallery and rates pages of a ladys site, not realizing that while my review shows one place, she is actually based in another? If i put down her home state, that won't be entirely accurate either, because that isn't where i saw her.

I like the idea, but i think it may have some major unforseen flaws.

be expensive and time consuming for TER to enter the data into existing profile.  Then again, it could be done during the review approval time as new reviews would be required to enter the state field.
