Minneapolis escort list???

I haven't been overly active on TER lately as I've been in Vegas and been utilizing other sites, but I'm making my way back to Mpls on Tuesday and have been updating my TER stuff and saw that an ad on "Minneapolis escort list" had been automatically added to my profile, as in i did not request it to be added nor have I visited said website and created any type of ad. It seems to be a smashed together conglomerate or many of my ads and photos along with my contact info...

Anyone else have this happen to their profile? Anyone know anything about Minneapolis escort list?

A reviewer would of submitted it as a site they found you on

Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation!

They use computer robots to scan legitimate websites where you might have submitted an ad or profile. This information is then collected and pasted into their own website in a way that makes it appear that you submitted the ad yourself.

On the page where your profile is created, banner ads are added and every time someone clicks on this ad or signs up for a service that the ad offers, they get a commission.

To generate traffic for their website and make them relevant, they will also use robots to submit fake problem reports on your TER profile. This problem report will ask TER to update your profile to include the web address for the profile they created for you in hopes they generate traffic from your TER profile.

It is a very difficult problem to deal with and happens to many other places including Backpage and Craigslist. You can click on the Report A Problem button in your TER profile and ask TER to remove the minneapolisescortlist address from your profile and TER might comply. The problem is your TER profile might get updated again to include that same rogue website a few days later

Appears you found one.  I might guess there are ladies on the provider board who can provide you more personal knowledge of these and how to (or if you can even try) to deal with them, assuming it's something that bothers you.

My take is they grab info from legitimate site ads that you did initially have something to do with, repackage them and post them as if they were an ad that was submitted by the provider.  They make money off of your info and assume no one will go after them.

At various times over the years I have asked providers about some ads on these sites and found they often didn't have a thing to do with them.

What I don't know is if some of the ad sites we think are generally legit are actually getting paid to release your pics and ad text/phone #'s etc.   There again I would guess there are providers who can speak to that and whether anything can be done about it
