And by your logic,

gay marriage is immoral because a whole bunch of religious reactionaries think it is. I disagree and do not believe I am immoral for doing so.

Same thing with the hobby. Prostitution is known as 'the oldest profession' for a reason. It has been around forever. It was legal in most of the United States until the 20th century. There are a couple of great books about the brothels that used to exist quite openly in downtown Minneapolis.

The United States is in company with North Korea and Iran in banning and criminalizing prostitution. Are you happy aligning yourself with those paragons of virtue?

The only time sex is immoral is when it causes damage. Forced sex is wrong and immoral. Sex between willing adults is not. By criminalizing prostitution, the current legal system fosters the subjugation and exploitation of vulnerable women by pimps because they are afraid to seek help from the legal system that should protect them.

And by the way, your statistic that "99.99% of the populations (sic) thinks that paying for sex is immoral" is just wrong, and it takes little research to prove it.

"In the 1996 General Social Survey, 47 percent (52 percent of men, 43 percent of women) agreed that, “There is nothing inherently wrong with prostitution, so long as the health risks can be minimized. If consenting adults agree to exchange money for sex, that is their business.” That's from http://www.gwu.edu/~soc/docs/Weitzer/Prostitution_Facts.pdf

In a UK survey in 2012 "The majority of respondents think prostitution should remain legal (73 per cent). Only 25 per cent thought being a prostitute was morally wrong, but a greater number thought visiting a prostitute was wrong (37 per cent)." http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/after-woman-sells-virginity-for-780000-here-are-the-results-of-our-prostitution-survey-8226025.html

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), wrote in its 2007 Policy 211: "The ACLU supports the decriminalization of prostitution and opposes state regulation of prostitution."

Maybe do a little reading from your lofty perch of "above average moral value," consider how you square that with your own participation in the hobby (and your efforts to demean providers on this board, as well) and try again later.

So, if a mass murder tells himself that he has high morals and goes on killing spree of 'hookers', sounds like that's ok with your logic.

I've never claimed high moral, probably above average moral value.  Yes, I'm saying 99.99% of the populations thinks that paying for sex is immoral.  Why is it so hard for you to understand fucktard?

For non-programmer, "!=" means not equal.  There are other symbols for not equal, but it's my post and I'm using "!=".  Whoever said that you have high moral and an account on TER, thanks for the good laugh.  Yeah, I know your subscribed to Playboy for the intellectual challenging/thought provoking articles.

I'll be the judge of my own morality, thanks. You're casting way too wide a net with your charge.

You think paying a willing woman for intimacy is immoral. I disagree and am not bothered by your narrow mindedness.

The only real question is why you are in the hobby if you think it is immoral. Just like being "bad"? Got some Mommy issues?

...is male, I'm confident that only a very small percentage, maybe 5%, of males would believe that paying for sex is, in itself, immoral. That would therefore blow away that 99.99% percent figure. Then, add in the percentage of women who also don't believe it to be immoral and it would make sense that well over 50% of the population wouldn't consider pay for play immoral. We won't let that be confused with whether people feel infidelity is immoral, either in a pay for play or a casual sex scenario. That's a totally different and separate issue.

What I do in this hobby is far from immoral, it's just illegal.

                                                      'Relax....it's just sex!'  ;)

... and legal on about half of the earth!  Notice the western hemisphere...about the only
country is!?  Can ya say "WTF!

What color is the sky in your world???

Morality is as unique to each individual person...living in your own skin is the only requirement...

ME...no kids, never been married and I buy blow jobs...my morals are just fine...thank you...

If it was up to me...I would make it all legal...EVERYTHING...Sex and Drugs...this would take out the Criminal Element out of the equation, raise state revenues and relieve the F'd prison system...

We as a society have dummy downed...(look in the mirror)...redneck reality stars...
Keeping up with Kardashian's...worshipping celebrities'...the Housewives of I don't give a rat's ass...perpetuating the narcissism of you Millenniums...(the "ME" generation)...devolve of any compassion, common sense or consideration of others...ever time you post...you exhibit all of those wonderful traits...

Beauty over substance...(which you are ALL about)...
Obviously you are struggling with your own hobbying behaviors...wanting to deflect your own lack of morals, (or a better term is lack of any ethics to speak of), on the rest of us...

Dude...that is your bag of sh!t...deal with it...your attempt to guilt hobbyists and providers is laughable...
Thanks
Kram

Not trying to guilt anyone nor trying to push my moral value onto anyone here.  I've expressed that 99.99% of the population thinks that what we do here is immoral.

it is not immoral.
She takes payment: it is not immoral.

The things that are immoral are:
--hypocrite politicians who keep this outlawed while they hobby
--hypocrite religionists who condemn and hobby.
--pimps and traffickers who prey on kids and undocumenteds.
--johns who pretend there is a moral difference between them and providers
--self hating hobbyists like you.

Really?  Pay up or stfu.

Do you have a reasoned explanation for your view?

WTF, don't you let it be known that you pay for sex outside of TER??????
Have you told your wife, your priest, your boss, or whoever is important in your life?  If anyone ask if you paid for sex, would you really tell them the truth??  My guess it fuck NO!! Because deep down you know you shouldn't be paying for sex, but you&I do it anyway

The ones that I would tell of picking someone up online, a one night stand from going out, those are the same people that I have absolutely no problem telling them of my encounters from TER.  In many cases I encourage guys that are sick of dealing with women on an emotional level and want some variety to give it a shot.

All guys pay for sex, I just choose the most affordable method.

Yeah, I get that.  I'm just busting balls on these guy on here that pays for sex and claims having high moral.

...if they did ask, I'd tell them that I do indulge from time to time. Folks who know me well wouldn't be at all surprised; they likely already suspect it. But, this is like the Fight Club and it's first rule, you don't talk about the hobby. Discretion and confidentiality are vital in keeping yourself and your lady friends safe. And, deep down I believe I SHOULD be paying for sex. What are you suggesting, that I NOT pay the ladies who agree to love me for a set fee?! THAT would be immoral!  :D
