I had a good friend suggest some car share options, I have also looked into rentals...SUPER EXPENSIVE. Any other ideas??? Winter is coming! Public transportation limits me when I want to visit friends in the evening.

Although craigslist might be a place to look for a cheap one . That's where I get all my 1,000 dollar clunkers that run for 2+ years on avg & keeping up on maintenance .

Have you seen the cars with mustaches? These are now licensed taxis and they are less
expensive, almost free! I think you negotiate the fee! Don't know name of service but
taxi drivers are incensed!

You could try Lyft or Uber. They both have apps for your smartphone.
Might want to try leasing a vehicle instead of buying one.
I agree about Lyft and UberX. They are much cheaper than a taxi and more reliable than either public transportation or taxis. Base rate for a short trip on both is $6. The driver's are background checked and there's usually one available at any time of day. One of the UberX drivers gave me a promo code for $20 off your first ride. PM me if you want it.
