I remember someone saying in Chicago it was a felony at least in the past, is it still that way? Is there like a list that spells it out in layman terms? for state to state?
thx for your help.

And I can't get PMs 'til I purchase VIP tomorrow.

...if you can't open them tomorrow, let me know here and I will be happy to send them again.  I can't tell you about anyplace else.  Each state and each local prosecutor have their own priorites.  We here in Metro MN have a moralistic and dangerous prosecutor on a witch hunt to contend with.
Conspiracy to commit prostitution being added to the charge bumps it up to felony.

Hey johnny, can I get the info for MN?
Thanks Jae

state and local laws are constantly changing, and you need to check not only state law, but also applicable local law (and be mindful that postal street addresses often are not the same as the actual physical location - i.e. an incall may have an address that indicates its in a city, but in reality the location may be just across the border in the county.
For states, just google [state] statutes laws, then search the criminal code
for localities, check out http://www.municode.com/  - not all are listed but many are.

Go to a law library and look up the laws in your state on prostitution.  However I am fairly sure regardless of the state you live in, the first time you are arrested and charged for hooking it is a "misdemeanor", not a felony.  It becomes a felony and can fall under racketeering if you are busted crossing state lines.  For example if you have been busted once in Cali and this is where you live, but are hooking in different states, traveling as some women do and are busted, then yes it does become a felony the second time around.  But if your hooking only in Cali and are busted three times then it can become a felony and you will do a few months of jail time.  (I knew someone this happen to).  Not necessarily the first or second time, just make sure you have a decent lawyer to assist you.  It's best to establish this first.

An extensive list of all federal and state laws in regards to the aforementioned subject....
