Mine was consumed by three weddings, two birthdays, a graduation & finished off with a fathers day family picnic.. Luckily I was able to squeeze in a relaxing Nuru & dinner with an awesome gent. I suspect I probably needed it more than he. Lol!

Despite the chaos, & frustrations at times I wouldn't trade what I have for the world. The family picnic reminded me how lucky I am.

While tending the brats & hot dogs I glanced up & realized there were four generations of fathers present. FOUR! I found myself choking back tears as I flipped another brat. Reflecting upon how not only did these fathers in my family actively participate in the upbringing of their own children, but to this day work collectively to father grandchildren, great grandchildren, GREAT, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, nieces & nephews etc as sadly some of these children have endured the pain of their bio fathers going MIA.

It took me 55 years & a weekend of chasing my tail to see what wonderful men I have been fortunate to have in my life as well as the lives of my children & grandchildren.

Thank you to all the dads like these. The world needs more of you!

Love & best wishes,
Leann

Mowed my dad's lawn with the new electric mower I got him . My dad loves his lawn like it's one of us and seeing him struggle with that old gas mower at his age was killing me so I took the initiative and did something about it.
It wasn't a fathers day gift but, I could tell he really likes it.
Then we went Bowling, man that guy has a wicked arm for being an 80 yr old lol he got 3 turkeys in a row,  I lost by 200 points behind hahaha.
Mostly, I was super happy to witness 4 men, who happen to be fathers finally get married to the persons they love after so many years of being together .
It was a great weekend ! Xoxo - V

That sounds like a fabulous weekend! And kudos for getting out to Northern Sparks despite the torrential rain, I was a little wimpier (though in truth, I hadn't made plans to go with anyone, and I'd already been to two parties that evening!)

Yesterday was breakfast at the Modern Times (omg, the migas!) and supper at Anchor. Today is so gorgeous I may just go down to the lake all day!

I spent the afternoon fishing with my daughter. (7y.o.)  There's not a thing I wouldn't do for that kid (and I'm not referring to "spoiling" her) and it was nice to get away for a while and just hang out. Got home and fired up the grill for a family gathering....   Twas a good day.

My daughter took me on a picnic lunch by the Rose Garden at lake Harriet. Watched an eagle fly circles! Beautiful afternoon.
