I tried to make an appointment with a visiting provider. I made the appointment request through P411. The provider asked for a photo of me. My response was that I did not have a picture to share and if the okays on P411 were insufficient that we would not be meeting. We didn't.
Has this happened to anyone else? It's a first for me.
Of course given my face, the picture would have probably scared her off
I am constantly amazed at the courage the providers have at seeing us sight unseen..... Even more amazed that they let me come back!! I was once told I have a face made for radio.... Thank you, dear ladies!!
I get told that on almost a daily basis.
I have a tremendously difficult time finding a photographer. They always want a deposit as assurance against my face breaking their camera.
We must travel in the same circles!!
(Perhaps) the request for a photograph was a test of your merits as a hobbyist.
For example, your response (noted above) sounds like it came directly from a mythical hobbyist rule-book.
If she perceives that she has power within the market (i.e., request photos from hobbyists, lose potential clients due to the request, still meet or exceed her monetary needs or goals for the visit), then she does not have anything to lose by requesting a photograph.
Additionally, the capability to add images to a hobbyist's profile (on Preferred411) has been available for a couple of years. (Perhaps) hobbyists in other geographic areas have grown more comfortable supplying images.
Finally, (perhaps) it is a play on the old childhood game of "Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine." If she incorporates full facial images within her advertisements, then she (perhaps) wants you to play along with the honesty game.

is I have reached out the lady before in her home city, never got to the point of actually making an appointment, but a photo was never mentioned. I have several okays from ladies in her home city.
If her home city (Las Vegas) is correct, then I have a pretty good idea of the provider's identity.
Her Preferred411 Profile indicates that "(Screening (is) required for all first timers. (Very important for me).)"
For example, one of her most recent reviews indicated that "(S)he wanted to meet in the hotel lobby near the bar and decide from there."
In any case, if my guess is correct, I wish she would have advertised her visit to Minneapolis quite a bit sooner in the process. I would have enjoyed meeting and spending time with her during the visit.

... but I was expecting it due to having read her reviews. The provider asked for a body shot (no face needed) because she was seeking "fit" clients. Why not, I thought; I want to see what the lady looks like before I commit to a date, so why shouldn't she have the right to see what the client looks like? I took a neck-down selfie and sent it to her. I was surprised when she told me I didn't pass muster--turned out she was looking for a swimmer body type ala Michael Phelps, and I was too big for her, i.e. too muscular (never been accused of THAT before!). I wished her well, and luck in her search for Mr. Phelps. 
It's never happened to me but if it was a required part of her screening we wouldn't be meeting, and my P411 profile will never have my photo. As long as I'm the one paying the only marketing I'm doing is to be respectful, and show up clean and on time with the right $$$. As for being scared off, it's a good thing we have so many ladies who are to polite to laugh or run when the door opens......
on yourselves ... Those of you who I've met and are currently posting on here regularly are decent looking men who have showed up clean, looking nice and respectful. How I am treated and having a good time is far more important to me than whether you are a 9 or 10. Personality goes much farther.
She can ask ... You choose what you what to share ... If it works out great ... If not there are others ... That's it!

I will send it for verification to well established providers although I am rarely asked for it because I have many reviews and WL under a hobby name. The picture is clear as a thumbnail but the file is so small (i.e., low res) that it does not blow up and it is below the resolution scale of google image. It has not been used elsewhere and I check it on google image every six months to confirm that it cannot be found.
Privacy is gone. The fact is that almost all of us can be identified with a little effort. TER as far as IDs go, works on the honor system. However assaults are a real problem and the women should have all the protection they want. Clients can decide if you want to go along.
But I have seen provider's with this requirement. I simply move on to someone else.
