There are definetly limitations to how far away from the search page you can go before it will not allow you to go back and remember what your search was. The way you described was the best way to keep your search in view.

I've been doing searches on the message boards, and I'm having a problem. I have to right-click and select Open in new window, or my results disappear when I go back. That's not the problem. In the new window I have to right-click and select Open in new window again, or the link opens in my results window. That's the problem. I just forgot to do that for the 5th or 6th time, and now I have to start over again. I'm not a webmaster so I have no idea why it does that, but please MAKE IT STOP! It's really annoying, especially when I'm already 8 pages into my results.
