So being a fairly recent visitor to both Fred's and Sarah's, when can I breathe easier again?

I'm a little nervous about being questioned.

According to this mornings paper very likely. They were investigating this for two years. Due to the nature of things expect to be contacted. Whether records were kept or not this place was under surveillance for sometime.

Not sure if anyone else heard/saw.  WCSH ran a piece about a sex trafficking bust in Sydney, ME.  Figured I'd remind everyone to be careful.

I suppose this will be the end of Fred's Place. It sure seems like he was getting a little too cocky. It was just a matter of time before he passed of someone enough for them to go to the police. It is not like he did much to hide his operation or verify his customers. I must say it was convenient to be able to drop by any time of day or night to spend an hour in the company of a woman.

Several of the articles mention that Fred's was under surveilance/investigation for TWO YEARS before the bust took place. That mean's that his son was UNDERAGE at that point!  Un-freaking-real.

Fred did not believe he was doing anything wrong. So naturally he didn't think it was bad for his son to be exposed to young women that took men upstairs for an hour or two.
He truly believe she that two consenting adults should be able to do what they want.

Last time I checked, that wasn't an "adult."

Parents who use their own children to commit felonies so that they, THE PARENTS, reap the financial rewards?! Yes, these people are SCUM. One could argue that this situation was way more egregious than using their child as an accomplice in drug manufactoring and distrubution or in acts of petty thief- these charges can result in this poor kid being listed as a registered sex offender for the rest of his life!

I wonder if people would be so cavalier if it was a FEMALE agency owner sending her 17, 18, or 19 yearold DAUGHTER  into seedy hotels, at all hours, to pick up agency "cuts."

I believe in decriminalization as much as the next person and feel not AN OUNCE of guilt or shame for what I do, but  CHILDREN, TEENAGERS, HIGHSCHOOL STUDENTS, etc have NO place in this business as providers, clients, OR agency owners. End of story!

What's the likelihood of LE contacting former clients?

My advice, for what its worth,  talk to an attorney now, be pro-active. If contacted, it may be wisest that you dont just go & talk with LE.

Good luck.

NEVER talk to LE.
NEVER answer questions....
Refer all inquiries to your lawyer.

Your lawyer will tell you to direct any calls, left messages on your phone, or visits by police back to him/her. Carry their phone number in your pocket. Be polite about not answering anything. Don't return any messages.

Based on the findings in the Zumba trials, proof of money transfer is key. Did Fred keep detailed records like Lexi did? Video surveillance?

Police/attorney general will probably need some clients to testify. Client identity easy enough through vehicle registration and matching to driver's license/photo.

I wonder if this will make things any easier for indi's.  If a girl gets arrested she can simply say she was being trafficked?

********

The bust came the same day that Gov. Paul LePage signed a bill that helps keep human trafficking victims from facing criminal conviction. The new law makes sex trafficking an affirmative defense to the charge of prostitution, preventing victims of trafficking from being branded with a criminal conviction
