Stress induced and too much sun. I usually start by putting a soaked cotton ball with alcohol on it at first sign it dries it super fast this way sometimes same day then if not abreva along with alcohol but of course if its went to far it would hurt like Hell to it on. But my SO never ever gets them. But yes wait til it heals or no kissing or daty.
