Just wondering what you ladies think. I've been getting my back waxed for years now and now I'm thinking about getting this done. I'm not afaird of the pain just wanting the ladies opinion. Do it or don't do it? Any suggestions on where to go? Would prefer the burbs if possible. Username at gmail.

I think that getting your hair waxed can be very attractive- but so can body hair. It all depends on how much hair you have. If you have a chest like Austin Powers, by all means PLEASE Wax it. (Or at least do something about it- shave, trim, use clippers, etc.) If you just have a little to medium amount of hair- I say keep it. I like it when I man has a little tuft in the middle of his chest, maybe a happy trail below the belly button, etc. As far as back hair, I can't think of a person that I ever found that really attractive on. I don't think it actually would hurt all that much, after you have done it a few times and gotten used to it. But, I could be wrong. The only thing that I ever get waxed is my face, like lips and eyebrows and that can be quite uncomfortable but those areas are super sensitive.

I am not aware of off the top of my head of any particular salons that would do it. But, I would assume any spa or salon that provides that kind of service for women would also provide it for men. I don't think that it would be all that hard for you to look into and find a couple places to choose from. Even the nail salon up the street from me does waxing, but I am not all that sure that they would do a big job like that. I think they mainly stick to the simple things, like face. But, I think if you find a place that lists that they do male waxing and Brazilians, they'd probably do it.

I am sorry that I couldn't be more specific regarding the best places to go. I wish I could be of more help, but hopefully my opinion at least gives you an idea.

I can tell you that I've been going to the spa for waxing for a few years. I prefer the boyzillian (as in the boys). I go to man wax in Lawrence on the north side. There is another good place on Clark in Andersonville. I get the full wax, meaning buttocks, cheeks, all the way under and up the front including all the parts.

Yes it hurts, but I've never had a girl say she didn't really like it. So have a couple drinks to dull your senses and do it. Plan on $100-125 depending on where u go

Most spas that do women will not do men, so you'll need to call and schedule it with a designated person at the spa.

Oh yes, with each rip of the wax u think to yourself, "oh fuck that hurts"

But think how much u like a nice smooth surface on your girls. And imagine they think the same about your smooth playground.

it hurts a lot the first time, but it's not that bad after a few times. I go in every four or five weeks.

I take a couple of advils about 30 minutes before to help with the pain.

I have to just shave and it sucks. Do they do full body waxing? it just sounds like a little too much but thats what I would need. Im pretty hairy and as Ive gotten older Im starting to hate it more and more.

Many providers love areas of your body that we would otherwise avoid if there was hair there, so for those who are manscaped... well, you just ask them what the others are missing out on.

I would suggest going the laser hair removal route. After 6ish visits, if not all of your hair will be permanently gone-no more visits to the waxer, and more money in the long run to spend on, well, whatever you want to. ;-) If you do choose the laser route, check out Groupon. There are always dozens of hair removal offers on that site, and some are in the suburbs. Cross check their offerings with Yelp and other pages to get a feel for whether participating company is worth offering up your skin to, and you should be a-ok!

Best of luck!

I had my back hair removed with a laser. Very pleased with the outcome. About 95+% gone. It feels like someone is snapping rubber bands on your skin. Uncomfortable but not painful.

It does not work on gray or white hairs. If you have that much mileage on you it would be a waste of money.

I get my chest waxed before beach time or before lifestyle parties. Each time you do it, it hurts less and the amount of hair growing declines.

For my junk it's a razor. Once a week keeps it nice and smooth.

Had my kitty done at about 18 and the hair did not grow back for a few years, at which time I had to go back and start over. I tan A LOT so that was my problem.

Well I went and got the Manzilian done yesterday. All I can say is the waxer is my new best friend! The experience was very comfortable. She put me at ease and was very painless. Looks great down there and now time to find a lady to share my smoothness with. Thanks for the advice.
