I am new to the hobby and still cautiously trying to figure things out. Are there any advantages to seeing an independent girl vs an agency? And what about disadvantages? I have to admit that all the verifying my identity is a little creapy. What's to stop them from blackmailing you?
Agencies:
Pros: Usually easier to deal with and get screened. Also more reliable.
Cons: Agencies are often a target for LE, and if they bust them, your personal info could fall into LE's hands. While I don't know personally of anyone having this problem, I wouldn't want to have the sleepless nights worrying about that.
Independents:
Pros: No middle man involved. If you click with the gal, she can be more flexible with time, rates, etc.
Cons: Can be flakey and disappear on you. Overall there can be more screening to go through, etc.
As for blackmail, yes, it can happen, but it is rare. Stick to gals with plenty of good reviews and that problem should be minimal.

Forget the blackmail you need to worry about LE.The only thing that comes to mind is the provider in Maine that was a zumba instructor that had all the names of the johns.Agencies can be less hassle but once you start seeing Indy girls and get to know when they are available it becomes pretty painless. I have been with many providers and NEVER EVER have given my info to anyone. .There are agencies that will not require your info and if any require you to fill out there application DO NOT DO IT.
