but just a temporary place to reside.

I found a really in expensive weekly rental there I am considering. I will obviously as of june be hiring a nanny then heading of for hotel to work 2 day a week maybe only one day will be sufficient if i am really lucky.

not asking about it for work, but as a temporary stop over before i decide where to actually hunker down next.

seen pirces for some furnished weekly rentals very very affordable but why? is it scary there? i never been there?

i see on a map it is west of worcester and kind of near swansea. I met alot guys from swansea in my cadillac lounge days.

can any one pm me or post here about some useful info on this town, is there a train station near by any nice things to do like hiking trails or something that would be something to look forward too.

i know in my current neighborhood i get the lovely beach for my walks not sure what types of land is avl for outdoor walks in that area, I need a good outdoor area where ever i go for my walks and work outs. not gig on excercizing indoors. in this nice weather. ...

thanks!

ts 400 a week and cable tv and electric included in that 400.
so 1,600 a month.

my current digs  I been at past 5 years, are 1800.00 plus electricity and cable and internet and stuff. which runs me about 2,200 a month if you add in electric cable ect ect. my electric bill was close to 200 a month every month this winter good grief

I'll ask some people I know who live around there ... esp train/travel in to boaton. Getting to the waltham, burlington etc. areas may be a bit more difficult. Check commuter rail stops and how close to the apt. you're considering.

I'd drive there to see you if you were hosting.

More importantly, how are you doing? Nice seeing you at the M&G ... you looked so healthy.

nly 18 more days to go actually.

ok thanks get back to me

Remember the song?

" it's the end of the world and you know it"

Leominster probably inspired it,

Most famous person from there. Johnny Appleseed

Look for $1600 a month somewhere near civilization.

Good luck wherever you land

infant as a single mother now.

just a roof over my head that is affordable will be sufficient for short term, i havent been able to work much, i am ok with one appt a day only

1600 a month for rent is not an option in next months cuz my situation, i can always relocate after i get through this period here, which is gonna be kinda rough.......

I lived there about 30 years ago.  It is blue collar all the way.  I do not believe there is any more of a safety issue than there would be in cities like Revere, Malden, Waltham, etc.  Because of the distance to Boston, yes, the rents are much more reasonable.  I believe commuter rail stops there, wait, I will check, yes, I see a commuter rail stop in north Leominster (wherever that is) and Fitchburg--the final stop on the line.  It looks like the commuter rail line intersects with the red line at Porter and ends up at North Station intersecting with the green and orange lines.  I believe there are many outdoor hiking areas around Leominster.  Good luck and I do hope to see you soon.

There used to be a nice amusement park too called Whalom Park, but I think it closed.  I would take my kid there.

Really nice old Victorian era houses in that area too.

Overall, for outside of Boston, it's a pretty good town.

eems to me too far out to get men to visit....b lue collar means less income.   You can make up the 600 in a morning....I think!?  Leominster is big on picking apples.  That your thing?

Angel, Swansea is between Fall River and Providence. Leominster boarders Rte 2 north of Worcester by 30 miles. Not a bad place, but you might want to ask a certain provider who hails from there.

I think a lot of the manufacturing base (mainly plastics) have shut down.. so less demand for an apartment? Your gain

I've lived in the area for a long time, haven't see or heard of any major issues, typical small city, really no problems that I've heard of and as I'm sure you know, local papers don't have much to write about so anything makes the news. Located on Rt. 2 about 40 miles west of Boston, convenient to 495 and 95, also, as you've mentioned reasonable rents.

I just need to stack some paper for a move. i can hunker down in a place not near the beach for few months, it will work.

You being a North Shore Gal have you looked a lil further North. I have a 2 bedroom in Beverly for 1400a month Heat, hot water and electric. They have a swimming pool and about a 5 min walk to Commuter rail. 1 mile from a hospital, pretty good schools and 20 mins to Cranes beach and 30 mins to Gloucestor beaches plus a couple of malls near by.

I think the commuter rail can take you from Boston to Portland Maine. Close to the beach, natural food stores and healthy eating. I might be inclined to give you a ride there this week if you'd like to check it out over lunch and a drive around the area. I like it

first of all which you need to apply for apts.

everything i have has been goin to my landlord here, I havent quite been giving them the full 1800 {plus my utilities every month, it has not been possible for me to do so.

I also have cable electric, work phones, home security , internet, and was attempting and managed to outfit a baby room and everything needed for an infant with help from myself and some generous people in the community have also helped me .

irts not as easy as pick a location and start applying to rent an apt, trust me, wish it were that simple. it aint. takes time to find any one thatl rent to some one like myself with nothin on paper. I got a show box of money orders that prooves i pay 1800 cash to my landllord at this location since 2011.................so far no one will accept that as proof i am ok to move in,

and no i have not a soul that would co sign or lend me moeny for first n last. I wont be able to hustle up that kindsa money til maybe late july, I am not gonna even be able tohave sex for 6 weeks after june 2 when i have the baby, few weeks away

for a gal like me finding an actual legitimate aprtment takes a bit of time...................................I have applied at over 16 other locations in recent years and got denied by all of em. From basic run the mill basement apts , nuthin fancy,
to basic run mill apt complex buildings. You name it.

To actually land an actual new apartment for a gal like me with out w-2's since 2006. Bad credit from outstanding student loans among other things.

They say renting an apt is harder than buyin a godam house these days!

I did find that this hotel chain that offer a weekly rate is around 200 dollars cheaper at its leominster locale, as opposed to its north shore locals, so figure it would be sufficent for a short term thing til i find a better apartment. Or ANY apartment for that matter. That would have me, I applied at a basement apt up street, north gate apts, stevens pound, the building opening up down the street, a few places in quincy, 4 or 5, a few places in dorchester, I been askin around and no one will rent to me .................................

so for an emergency last minute thing i had found a weekly rental sans credit checks for 420 dollars . the locations the same company carry in north shore are closer to 600 weekly.

so that would be 180 dollars weekly i would save which is actually if you do math 720 cheaper monthly.

long story but in a bit of a pickle with my landlord. aagh! not so good. bad timing. so i was makin kinda last minute emergency plans here. ...i dont have to or be there long term just was cheapest i could find through my researches  for the now. I will be in recovery from the baby june 2 til mid july and have no money saved, i been kinda just buying baby stuff and tryin to get by .lol. so yes i would prefer not to be so far away but money wise it makes more sense. I would ideally like to stay in the city i have been in over 8 years now cuz its where I am most comfortable and its familiar and all but thats not an option, ...waaah! I wish it were. trust me..........................................I am a townie and a creature of habit but . what can i do. the situation is whaT IT IS AND IT IS NOT IN MY CONTROL I AM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN WITH IN MY POWER .

Nice area IMHO.  Good for kids.  Lotta nice little boutique type places- and it's only like 20-30 min from Worcester which really has some great spots to eat/drink (again IMHO).
It's around 45 min to Waltham, Burlington, etc... 60 with traffic--- but the traffic you'd get is still 100 times better than Boston proper

far away from al the action and money!

Leominster has a bad rap as being far, but it is at MOST 13 minutes from I495 heading west on Rt. 2.  Google maps has the Starbucks at Commercial in Leominster to the Littleton Train Station at 13.5 miles and 14 minutes and the station is on the inside part of I495. Any monger or hobbyist that likes the 495 corridor (Tewksbury, Marlboro) should be able to handle that.

If you are not signed to anything and had the time, Hudson or Billerica have reasonable rates and are on the inside 495.
