Actually, in my opinion you can't fault Naomi on this. Just like guys are always telling other guys to do research, every provider has their own method of screening. I would imagine she is not the only one to do this.
Guys and gals need to check their Facebook privacy settings. If you have your hobby email and/ or phone number linked to your Facebook account, that's just plain stupid. It's very easy to find out who the other person is. All you need to do is search for friends in Facebook and it will automatically search the phone numbers you have stored in your phone and list the people who have that number listed in their profile.
ie. I have a Chicago domme's number stored in my phone. I did a search for friends and her real life profile came up.
The amount of info that you can find just from Facebook is scary

I'm not sure what else I could add. The overwhelming power of social media is being encouraged by those who crave its power to market. But Facebook and Google are constantly fighting to see who's the smartest guy in the room, with Apple egging them on. So there may be no real way to separate your real identity from your alias.

How are you handling it carefully? If you look at someone's facebook page, it makes a connection. It assumes you might be friends. It might ask you at some point if you'd like to be friends. What if you look at someone else? How there is a loose connection. It is one of the most insidious social media programs ever created. If people really understood what it does, what it tries to learn about you people would be fearful and shocked.

Yeah, you can hide your IP address, and there is a big difference between someone knowing your real name and address versus your IP address. There are ways to hide it, just look it up through this new thing the kids are calling "Google".
